Who Should Fight in the Front Line to Defend Divine's Manor?

Send Davrin to Defend Divine's Manor

Grey Warden Davrin

The prompt displayed recommends that you select a companion that is skilled at either front-line combat, or is experienced with sieges. Davrin is a companion who is confirmed to be able to succeed at this task.

Make sure that Davrin is a Hero of the Veilguard to maximize chances of success. Having all factions at the highest Faction Strength (three stars) will also increase the odds of successfully completing the task.

Send Your Less Preferred Companion

Rook Chooses Bellara to Defend Divine

If Davrin is not selected, then it is recommended that you choose your least preferred Companion at this point, as they will not be available for the climax of the story. Choose someone that you won't be needing for the fights ahead.

Note that choosing not to fulfill the condition of the companion being skilled at either front-line combat or sieges may lead to that companion failing this task.

Send a Companion That Shares Rook's Class

Character Creation Class Selection

If the choice remains difficult, selecting a Companion with the same class as Rook will give up less flexibility, as Rook should be able to fill in for that Companion's role in the upcoming events due to having access to similar abilities.

Choice Does Not Affect the Ending

Bellara Stays Behind

The Companion selected to stay behind and defend the Divine's Manor has no bearing on the final ending that players obtain. Whether they fail or succeed will depend on the previously mentioned factors.

Morrigan Asking for Aid

This choice will draw from all of the player's remaining Companions in the party as options. The selected companion will become unavailable for the rest of the following quest.

Note that prior choices made before reaching this point in the story may lock out some characters from being elligible for this choice. Choosing between Bellara or Neve to disable the wards, and between Harding or Davrin to lead the distraction affects who can be chosen.
