This is a walkthrough for Pinnacle of Its Kind, a side-quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Read on to learn where to locate the demons, The Formless One attack patterns, quest rewards, and more!

| The team must stop a demon sealed inside the Necropolis that has spread its influence around the world. | ||
This quest automatically triggers once you obtain all of the clues and approach the large door in the Chamber of the Unforged after completing the quest - Restless Spirits.

After receiving the quest, you will be tasked with hunting down and defeating three demons located throughout Northern Thedas. These demons are all named The Formless One, and are classified as Bosses.
Sconces with green flames can be found close to the arena where the boss fights will take place. Interact with these to start the encounter.

After defeating the three demons, fast-travel back to the Necropolis Halls. Proceed deeper into the sanctum to trigger the final boss of this quest.
Once inside, the boss fight will trigger, summoning the The Formless One. It's vulnerable to Necrosis, and resistant to Shocked. The Formless One will also occassionally give itself a Barrier after you lower its HP to certain levels.

| Swipe | Does a quick swipe with either its front or rear legs, depending on your position. |
| Headbutt | Quickly snaps its jaws as if taunting before lunging forward to try and slam down its head on you. |
| Body Slam | Flies up and briefly charges before brining itself down with force, affecting a large area |
| Breath Attack | Has a Shock breath. Marks you with a circle of electricity before firing a straight stream of lightning. (Can shoot on land or while flying.) |
| Tail Swipe | Swings its body in a 180-degree arc to try and hit you with its tail. |
| Charge | Briefly winds up before charging at you in a straight line. |
| The Tail Swipe is the only attack you can normally block, unless you're playing the Champion Specialization with Inspiring Guard. | |
The Formless One shares the same moveset as any other High Dragon in the game, save for its associated element. You can utilize the same tactics you did to fend off the dragon when choosing to save either Minrathous or Treviso.
Should You Help Minrathous or Treviso?
Completing Pinnacle of Its Kind rewards the player with Dragonfire Catalysts, a Legendary material used to upgrade high tier equipment. In addition to this, the player receives 500 XP, Dragon Bone, 12 Etheric Remnants, Increased bond with current companions +200 Mourn Watch Strength, +300 Lords of Fortune Strength.
