Past Adventures is a feature during character creation that allows the player to customize how the Inquisition was led during the events of the previous installment, Dragon Age: Inquisition, by manually answering three questions.

The Inquisitor and The Inquisition's Goal and Fate

Past Adventures

These three questions pertain to the Inquisitor's Friendship/Romance target, the fate of the Inquisition, and their goal relating to Solas.

Aside from this, players can also fully customize the gender, lineage, and appearance of the Inquisitor. However, do note that upon choosing a gender, the selection of characters the Inquisitor may have romanced decreases.

Has Minor Effect On the Story

Stop the Ritual

During the character creation, Past Adventures is specifically mentioned to have minor effects on the story. Players may feel free to attune the past adventures to their previous Dragon Age: Inquisition playthrough or skip the feature entirely.

Keep Choices Feature

Carry Over Choices Using Save Files

The Keep Choices feature allowed players to carry over choices from old games to newer installations by directly importing their old save files into the latter. Unlike in previous games, Dragon Age: The Veilguard did not implement it and substituted it with the Past Adventures feature.
