This is owed to the armor's high defense as well as Ice Resistance. Additionally, this armor can also be reinforced through the Kuku System of the game, allowing it to gain more defenses than it already has.

The Scorchflame Armor set is similar to the Frostcursed Armor, but with fire resistance. Though the full set cannot be obtained through exploration, the pieces that you can take from exploring grant a significant defense boost for starting. Similar to the Frostcursed Armor, it can also be reinforced through the Kuku system, amplifying its stats to gain more defenses.

Alternatively, players can also use the Armor of the Shadows set for fire resistance.

The Valortread armor set is one of the strongest defensive armor for Oongka as it's stacked with defensive abyss gear like Gourmet, Aegis, and Fortification. On top of its aesthetic, and raw defense boost, it also has a variety of resistances through its individual pieces.

The best starting armor to equip at the beginning of the game would be the Canta Plate Set. This set is similar to Matthias' outfit and provides an all-around stat boost of attack damage, defense, and attack speed for you to breeze through the early Chapters. You can use this starting armor to get the better early game armor below.

Take note that this set can be bought from the Rhett, the weapons vendor next to the Smithy, once you arrive in Hernand Town at the start of the game.
