Unique Weapons are special weapons that have no duplicates and require their own refinement materials for upgrades. Because these are exclusive weapons you cannot obtain anywhere else, it is worth keeping them around.

Special Equipment are items that offer unique gameplay features allowing your character to execute certain mechanics. These items are essential as their usage depends on whatever situation you find yourself in, like mining for ore or stealing items with a mask.
You need materials to craft and upgrade your weapons, so crafting and refinement materials are always worth accumulating in your inventory. It helps to gather all sorts of materials whenever you can as each weapon has its own material requirements for refinement.

Abyss Cores are excellent augments to your gear as they provide extra stats and effects. It is recommended to keep them in case you want to attach them to certain gear for particular builds. Abyss Cores can also be purchased from vendors, so they are another type of item worth buying.

It is always handy keeping food in your inventory as it is your primary mode of healing during combat. Whether eaten cooked or raw, you can always rely on food to restore your HP whenever you need to.

Tools are items that you need to engage in certain activities in Pywel. These tools (like logging axes and fishing rods) have their own unique mechanics, and many of them are used for more mundane activities like logging trees, fishing, and mining for ore.

Small Bags provide additional storage to your inventory, which is already scarce as the game has no storage chests or item boxes to store your items. Each merchant offers one stock of a Small Bag, so it is highly recommended to buy a Small Bag when you find a merchant who sells one.

Abyss Artifacts are items used to unlock and upgrade your skills, while Faded Abyss Artifacts are items used to reset your characters' skill trees if you wish to reorient them for better investment.
Both these items are quite rare, so it is worth obtaining them if you find a vendor who sells them, like Elowen the Witch.

As they are necessary to heal yourself, it is a good idea to buy food and ingredients to stock up on healing consumables. It is also recommended to buy ingredients as they are cheaper and you can use them to cook food, which lends more HP restoration.

Buy recipes, cooking manuals, and blueprints to unlock more food to cook. With more food available, you can cook them to obtain more effective consumables for restoring HP.

Documents are Key Items necessary for advancing quests. Oftentimes, you obtain these items during the quest itself. After completing the quest, the items become irrelevant and you can sell them to save space in your inventory.
Not all Key Items can be sold. If an item cannot be sold, it will be marked as such in your inventory.

After reading a recipe or a crafting manual, you will acquire its information and you do not have to read the item again to review its contents. With this, you can sell these items and fetch a high price for some that are worth silver.
Additionally, it is a good tip to buy a recipe or manual from a vendor and then sell it to them for half its price. Because these items can be expensive, selling them is a good way to get some of your money back.
Collectibles are unique items you can use to decorate your home or gift to NPCs. If you wish to earn more money, however, collectibles are good items to sell as you come across several as you explore the open world.
Damaged gear are items that cannot be repaired, so all you can do is sell them. You can obtain damaged gear from your own damaged equipment or by looting defeated enemies.
Gear picked up from the environment are also extra things you can sell for a good price. Just remember not to sell any Unique Weapons you happen to find.
