Use Force Palm to Disable His Follow-up Counter Attack
The best way to defeat Kailok the Hornsplitter is by parrying his attacks during the fight to disable his combo. After parrying, attack him twice until he recovers from the flinch and counter his red glint attack with a Force Palm to stagger him, leaving him vulnerable and giving you an opening for burst damage.
Move Side to Side to Evade His Wind Slash
Kailok the Hornsplitter typically fights with his sword to execute a Wind Slash that releases a wind projectile to your direction. Try to roll sideways and keep your distance to avoid damage as this can easily shave off a huge chunk of your health.

Make sure to start upgrading your armor before fighting Kailok the Hornsplitter as he can easily chip through your health when wearing subpar armor. Although easy to deal with, his flurry attacks and evasive maneuvers can provide a challenge.
We also highly recommend refining weapons first as this should give you enough damage to shorten the fight and defeat Hornsplitter.
Use a Grindstone to Gain Reinforcement Bonuses
Additionally, try to head over to any Grindstone you can find near a Smithy as using these will provide you with a huge Attack Buff that has a durability for a certain amount attacks you execute.

| Wind Slash Flurry | Kailok the Hornsplitter briefly winds up and charges a Wind Slash combo that he can cast consecutively or chain with his basic attacks. Observe his stance and watch out for his sword so you can keep your distance and dodge as soon as he performs the attack. |
| Evasive Roll | Kailok the Hornsplitter performs a long dodge roll towards your blindspot whenever he gets hit for too long. Make sure to bring your shield up when he does this to lock on to his location and keep in him your sights in case he performs more deadly moves. |

Kailok the Hornsplitter allows you to learn the Evasive Roll skill during the fight. Keep in mind that certain skills can be obtained by either starting the boss fight, using the Watch and Learn mechanic, or defeating the boss themselves, depending on the boss you fought.
For skills learned through the Watch and Learn mechanic, note that you must have the camera facing the Boss once they perform the move and hold down the Interact button to learn their skill.

Found at the Goldleaf Guildhouse During Chapter 2
Kailok the Hornsplitter can be located at the Goldleaf Guildhouse during The End of Greed main questline after entering the Goldleaf Guildhouse. Doing so will immediately start a cutscene that results into Kailok, the Hornsplitter attacking you.
