The trust system of Crimson Desert revolves around your relationships with NPCs you interact with in the world of Pywel. Trust is measured by a gauge-like meter where red indicates disliked actions while green indicates liked actions.
Generally, any positive gesture you do for an NPC (like simply greeting them) will be counted as a “liked” action and fill up the green side of the meter.
Taking the time to raise NPC trust by interacting with them is worth doing as you may enjoy benefits including but not limited to lowered item prices at vendors, new quests to do, and even pets as companions.

Trust can be raised for animals like dogs. Once you reach maximum positive trust with one, you can take it in as a pet. A useful feature with pets is that they can gather loot for you. A Brown Dog can be adopted as a pet in the Faction Quest The Greymanes' New Fangs.
You have an in-game daily limit of 5 attempts to gain an animal's trust via petting or feeding them. Feeding an animal meat is the fastest way to immediately gain trust points, though different types of meat (like lean meat) give a different number of points.
If you prefer not to spend food on animals, you can pet them instead. This will take time as petting offers 5 points of trust per attempt, so you will need to keep petting the animal for 4 days to take them in as a pet.

The simplest way of raising NPC trust is to approach an interactable NPC and find the prompt to greet them. To gain trust from dogs, you will need to pet them instead. Crimson Desert allows you to greet NPCs wandering around the world, and the gesture is enough to raise their trust over some time.

Requests, a type of side quest in Crimson Desert, rewards you with trust for the NPC who commissioned you. After completing a Request, you'll see a pop-up showing how much trust has increased for that NPC.
Another way of raising NPC trust is to give gifts to them. We will update this section once more information has been gathered!
