How to Beat Staglord

Take Advantage of Force Palm
| Combo Setup |

| Parry → Stab → Heavy Attack → Force Palm → Heavy Attack |
Force Palm can easily stagger and cancel most of Staglord's combos so make sure to use this whenever you can while also maintaining your Spirit throughout the fight. We recommend using our combo setup as this allows you to consistently deal damage while also staggering Staglord to continue your combo without getting damaged.
Equip and Use Ice Resistance Items
Staglord's boss area is located far up north where it has cold temperatures that can greatly hinder your stamina regeneration for the fight. Make sure to equip a Cloak and prepare Food that provides Ice Resistance so you can reach at least a Lv. 5 Ice Resistance to help you become immune to cold temperatures throughout the fight.
Use Turning Slash Against Him for Big Damage
Saigord the Staglord is incredibly weak to his own attack, Turning Slash Expertise, which is a sword skill you can learn during the boss fight. Try to keep your distance and use the Watch and Learn mechanic to learn the skill and start using it on him to deal burst damage.
Take note that Staglord can still retaliate when you hit him with Expertise so try to avoid spamming the skill too much and only use it when you have an opening.
Avoid His Red Glint Attacks
Staglord has a wide variety of red glint attacks that can easily shave off your stamina if you try to block it. Focus on dodging and keeping your distance as he starts getting aggressive, while also keeping a look out for his 3-hit combo and whenever he sweeps his shield in front of him as these are red glint attacks that deals huge stamina damage.

| Expertise | Staglord winds up his sword behind him to execute a large overhead slash and follows-up with another ovehead slash to finish the combo. We recommend keeping your distance from this move and dodging to the side as it can track your position and reach a long range. |
| Royal Combo | Staglord performs a 3-hit combo with a wide slash into a shield bash, and follows-up into a strong overhead slash while slightly moving forward. This move is a good opportunity to parry and cancel his combo so we can execute our recommended combo setup and shave off a chunk of his health. |
| Shield Charge | Staglord brings his shield and charges towards you to deal damage and knock you down. You can counter this move by using your own Shield Charge skill to cancel his move and avoid any damage. |

You can find Saigord the Staglord during the Lord Amidst the Ruins faction quest at Icemoor Castle Ruins in the Hernand region.

Saigord the Staglord allows you to learn the Turning Slash Expertise skill during the fight. Keep in mind that certain skills can be obtained by either starting the boss fight, using the Watch and Learn mechanic, or defeating the boss themselves, depending on the boss you fought.
For skills learned through the Watch and Learn mechanic, note that you must have the camera facing the Boss once they perform the move and hold down the Interact button to learn their skill.
