Sanctum Challenges

Cleanse each Sanctum in Crimson Desert by locating the corresponding Witch and assembling the generators found within. Learn how to cleanse Sanctums and where to find them here.

Sanctums are large structures with deactivated generators that you can cleanse to restore their power. Each Sanctum requires completing a prerequisite quest before it can be fully unlocked.

How to Cleanse Sanctums

Find the Corresponding Witch for That Sanctum

Sanctum Faction Quests

Cleansing Sanctums is part of the Faction Quests assigned by the various Witches. Each Witch will task you with cleansing three to four Sanctums, and completing them grants different rewards.

The first Witch you’ll encounter, Elowen, appears in Chapter 5. She gives you the Witch of Wisdom quest, which tasks you to cleanse four Sanctums in Hernand. The rest are found in the open world.

The Sanctum of Penitence ruins can be found on top of a plateau far southeast of the City of Hernand, past Unicorn Cliff, close to the southeastern border of the Hernand region.
Sanctum of Temperance

You can find the Sanctum of Temperance in the Pororin Forest in Hernand. Look for a crevice on the cliff to find its entrance.

The Sanctum of Atonement is in the western area of Haunted Hill, just east of the Hernandian Ruins.

The Sanctum of Deliverance is on top of the southeastern area of Stormtalon Ridge. The nearest fast travel point is the Abyss Cresset from A Guide in the Darkness Secret Place.

The Sanctum of Benediction is found deep in the Everfrost Mountains. You can follow the path south of the Everfrost near the Nas River to reach this area with your Mount.

The sanctum is at the southwest region of Hernand, between the Witchwoods and Sunset Valley.

The Sanctum of Expiation can be found northwest of Demeniss. You can use the Abyss Nexus near Leafshade House then travel southeast to the sanctum.

The Sanctum of Revelation is on the northeastern island of Serpent Marsh, just north of the Bamboo Forest Seonangdang Abyss Cresset fast-travel point.
Sanctum of Renunciation

The Sanctum of Renunciation is on a cliffside near the Red River, southeast of Crimson Desert. The nearest Abyss Nexus fast-travel point is just west of the Red Tree Forest.
Sanctum of Faith

The Sanctum of Faith is on the eastern side of The Grey Forest in Delysia, atop a rocky hill. The nearest fast-travel point is just slightly northeast of the sanctum.

The Sanctum of Oblation is on the eastern island of Blue Thicket in Delysia, following the western northbound path of the island.

The Sanctum of Devotion is on Hushwind Hills, east of the Cliff of Despair in the southwest of Delysia. It's near and west of the Timberdale Gorge Abyss Cresset.

The Sanctum of Solace is on the mountainside of the southeastern range of the Silver Wolf Mountain in Pailune.

Sanctum Challenge Rewards

Complete the Light Puzzles for Kuku Pot Cores

Core of Absolution

A short light puzzle becomes available after cleansing a Sanctum. In these puzzles, you must focus Blinding Flash on the dial located on the Sanctum’s generator to obtain a Core from that specific Sanctum.

These Cores are valuable materials used to upgrade your Kuku Pot, which is given to you by Grimnir at the Kilnden Workshop.

Faction Quest Completion

Sanctum Faction Quests

Since Sanctums can only be purified by Witches from the Witches Faction, completing these challenges is essential for Quest Progression.

Hidden Chests

Sanctum Hidden Treasure

Always keep a lookout for hidden chests within Sanctums. While they are not direct rewards for purifying the area, you can almost always find a hidden treasure tucked away in a corner or behind a puzzle once the Sanctum is cleared.

Game Achievement

While there are no inherent item rewards for completing Sanctum challenges, there are several in-game Achievements tied to discovering and purifying every location. Completing these is required for those aiming for 100% completion.
