Quickly Tap the Button to Fill the Red Gauge

Quickly press the button that appears during the lockup sequence multiple times to slowly fill up the red meter.

If you are using a controller, you can tilt it at a 90 degree angle for a more comfortable grip when button mashing. This also makes it easier to press the second button prompt that will appear during the quick-time event (QTE).

Time the QTE Button Prompt

After a few seconds, a quick-time event (QTE) will appear at the center of the screen that has a second button prompt.

Wait for the spinner to land on the white wedge of the circle before pressing the button. The white wedge will always appear on the left side of the circle while the spinner moves clockwise.

Successfully doing so fills up the red gauge and gives you the advantage over your opponent. Conversely, failing to press the button prompt gives your opponent the advantage.

Change the Graphics Preset to Performance to Slow Down the Prompt

If the quick-time event is too fast, you can go to the Others menu and the Options tab. Select Settings and change the Preset from Quality to Performance. Doing so can slow down the spinner during the quick-time event, making it possible to press the button at the right time to complete the minigame.

Main Story Progression

Completing the Arm Wrestling minigame in Chapter 2 allows you to progress through the next objective of the main story and lets you replay it outside of the main story. You cannot progress further without defeating your opponent at the inn.
