The goal of this Kliff Longsword build is to setup viable gear and skills for Longsword use. The build is extremely easy to setup and upgrade, allowing players to breeze through the the early chapters.

The build performs well in the early chapters of the game and is very easy to use. It can kill mobs easily and deals high physical and stagger damage to bosses.

The Rhett's Longsword is the only weapon of the build. This weapon is chosen due to its early accessibility and high damage output with a critical rate bonus.

It can easily be refined up to Tier 4, and slotted with the Abyss Gears from the Hwando for more damage, critical rate and stamina management.

The armor for this build is chosen for its early accessibility and upgrades. This set can be bought immediately when you reach Hernand. It also grants adequate defences relative to the early chapters of the game, something that will last until you reach the harder areas of the game.

For the accessories, although it is not required to have in the early game, they are extremely helpful for the build as a layer of extra defense. The Ynitium Leather Cloak is used for extra Defense and ease of refinement, while the Tarnished Amulet provides attack bonuses.

For most of your skills you do not need to invest much, but a few key skills are required to efficiently use the Longsword.

For Stamina, be sure to get Lariat, Stab, and Spinning Slash. These skills will be your main attacks with the Longsword.

For Spirit, be sure to get Parry to create openings when enemies attack. For Health, take Aerial Maneuver to traverse cliffs easily.

For your stats, it's important to invest at least 5 points to Stamina to efficiently execute your combos and move around the map. It's also recommended to upgrade your health to at least 4 points for reliable survivability.

Starter Skill Rotation

This Longsword Kliff build focuses on counter attacking and combo chaining Spinning Slash through Stab and Lariat. The playstyle is as follows:

  1. Start with Spinning Slash and chain it with Stab.
  2. When fighting against mobs, utilize Lariat for AoE damage.
  3. Use Forward Slash to overwhelm mobs.
