Lock on to targets by guarding or using the hard lock on when the white reticle is on an enemy in Crimson Desert. Read on to learn how to lock on to targets and how to change targets.

During combat, you will see a white dot on the enemy standing closest to your position, which signifies that you can lock on to them. To toggle the hard lock on, press down on the D-pad on a controller or the Caps key on PC.
Toggling hard lock on will target a single specific enemy, allowing you to see them even as they weave among other enemies in a group. The symbol for the hard lock on is a dotted circle flanked by spiked lines.

To toggle the temporary lock on, hold the guard button to raise your shield and automatically lock on to the enemy closest to you. As long as your shield remains raised, the target lock will stay active.
The symbol for the temporary lock on is a white dot in a circle.
Guarding also gives you the opportunity to parry an incoming enemy attack. Press the guard button to temporarily lock on to the enemy and parry just before they hit you.

To switch to a different enemy, you have to release your current lock. Move until the white dot highlights a new target, then press the button to toggle the hard lock on or temporary lock on.
While holding the shield button, your target lock will automatically switch to any enemy that attacks you. The most recent enemy you block will become your current target, making it easier to retaliate.
