Crimson Desert - What are Packs For

Some packs are purely cosmetic while some have some uses like the Kuku Packs, the jetpack, and the flamethrower pack in Crimson Desert. Check out this page to learn about what you can do with packs and how to use them!

What are Packs For?

  1. Field Packs are Used in Kuku Pot Crafting
  2. Flamethrower Packs for Combat
  3. Some Packs Are Purely Cosmetic

Field Packs are Used in Kuku Pot Crafting

There are special packs in the game that can have some functionality, particularly the ones from Grimnir's Kuku Shop. You'll be able to craft Kuku Packs using Field Packs and then upgrade to specific ones that can help you with some utility or even some combat capability.

Some examples of the upgraded packs include the following:

  • Kuku Rocket Pack - Oongka's jetpack for flying around
  • Kuku Boltspitter - the lightning version of the flamethrower
  • Collection Packs - gathers materials around your character

There are about 9 different upgrades to the Kuku Pack from Grimnir's shop.

Flamethrower Packs for Combat

Overworld Image Equipment Preview

Flamethrower Packs are available in the game and you can loot them off Bleed Bandits. These items take up your ranged weapon slot and backpack slot at the same time.

When using flamethrowers, they use a charge system that determines how long you can use it at a time and they replenish when not in use. The flamethrower pack also has durability that gets lower with each use and breaks the item upon reaching zero.

Some Packs Are Purely Cosmetic

There are some packs that you loot while adventuring that have no function at all. An example of these are the Farmer's Pack and the Quarrier's Pack which does not actually do anything and is purely cosmetic, so you can safely sell them to shops.

Should You Sell Packs?

Sell Packs Except Field Packs

You can sell packs that you find in the open world since they are mostly useless. However, make sure to keep Field Packs since they can be used in Kuku Pot crafting for making useful backpacks that can actually do something.
