How Does Agony Works

Fixed Damage Over Time per Stack at Turn End

Agony is a debuff that deals fixed damage over time to an enemy per agony and reduces the stack at turn end. Inflicting more Agony does not increase the stack but instead inflicts a new instance of Agony to the target.

For example, Tressa's Shadow Dagger has Agony 2, it will inflict 2 stacks of Agony to the target but if another Shadow Dagger was used to the same enemy, it will have another 2 stacks of agony but not a single 4 stacks of it hence why the damage is small but occurs multiple times based on how many agony you've inflicted.

Can Be Inflicted Infinitely

Despite the small damage, Agony can be stacked infinitely to the same enemy as long as your build can do it. The upcoming agony damage can also be seen visually on the enemy health bar so you can gauge how many Agony you need to inflict.

Only Scales With Damage Over Time, Attack, Attribute Stat

The damage of agony scales off the character's damage-over-time, attack and attribute stat. For example, Tressa is a void attribute character so to increase her agony damage, she needs to increase her void damage alongside her damage-over-time and attack stat. However, general damage buffs such as Morale will not increase the damage of agony.
