It's highly likely that the level cap for the game is 120 because of the achievement 'Level 120 Hero 1'. We will update this section of the page once we have confirmed that this is the case. Check back soon!

To level up your characters, you need to let them participate in battles, as defeating enemies gives you experience. Make sure to deploy your units where there are numerous enemies you can defeat and objectives you can do to maximize the experience you gain from that battle.
It's also a good idea to aim for a higher battle rank grade, as getting a higher rank will reward you with more experience and gold.
If you want to level up a unit fast with this method, then it's best to manually use the character you're trying to level instead of letting them auto-battle.
This will ensure they'll receive the MVP role, as you'll be the one doing all the work and, in turn, granting them additional experience.
An alternative way to level up characters in this game is by going to the Training Grounds and talking to the Training Instructor. There will be an option to Level Up/Reset where you can select which character you want to level up.
It's important to note that this method is only for underleveled characters to catch up since you cannot exceed the level of your current highest leveled character using this method. This will also require you to dish out some gold to level up individual characters.
To raise your character's class level, deploy your characters to battles and win them. After which, in the post-battle screen, any characters that participated are rewarded with class experience. If your class levels up, your weapon level may also increase along with it.
This will let you attack more and equip more powerful weapons to your arsenal. Always aim for the highest battle rank grade, as getting one will reward you with more experience.
To level up your classes without grinding for it, you can head to the training grounds at the camp and talk to the instructor, then select the train option. This will bring up a menu where you can choose a training regimen to level your characters in pairs.
Press Y to automatically place the optimized pairings for each regiment, giving you the highest experience gain. Keep in mind that this method will require training points, which can only be refilled at the start of a new chapter.
Story Walkthrough: List of Chapters
To make the most out of your training points, make sure to pair your character with someone who has a higher weapon level, as they will earn bonus experience depending on the weapon level difference.
Leveling up your characters means you'll be able to improve their stats. This will let you take on tougher enemies and make it easier for you to progress through the story without interruption.
Unit Details and Stats Explained
Increasing your level will also make sure that you won't have a difficult time getting an S-Rank whenever you're in battle since you'll be able to clear out enemies faster due to your stat increase.
When a character's class level increases, they'll obtain new combats arts and magic, as well as abilities. However, these can differ between characters, even for those who have the same class.
Make sure to check up on your characters from the Convoy menu to check which abilities they'll get from leveling up their class.
