Making the correct choices in the final battle of one late-game Chapter (in Azure Gleam, it was Chapter 12 – others to be confirmed) will result in Byleth and Jeralt, former foes, joining the party as allies.
You'll be able to identify the battle by a warning at the start of the mission stating that Your actions in this battle will greatly impact the outcome of the story. When you see this, save your game to make sure you can come back to try again if you fail! After that, you'll need to use the Locate Ambushers Strategy, avoid being seen by mercenaries after using that Strategy, and defeat Fleche and Randolph without defeating Byleth, which will end the chapter and yield you these two coveted characters.
How to Recruit Byleth and Jeralt
Arval can be unlocked by successfully recruiting Byleth, and completing the game on any difficulty. From there, you'll be able to exchange 60 Renown to unlock Arval from your Personal Quarters in your endgame or a New Game Plus save file.
Rhea and Sothis are available in the same way, but unlike Arval, they do not require the player to recruit Byleth to be unlocked, and simply clearing the game on any difficulty is sufficient.
The Dancer is a secret Master Class which can be acquired by any character! It is available in a Survey Spot in Chapter 12 in the Azure Gleam path, though this may vary depending on what path you are on.
You'll be able to identify the house regardless of your path by its condition that the player must complete all side missions in that region's side quest (the battle in that region). If you see a house which matches that description, more likely than not, you've found the Dancer house.
How to Unlock the Dancer Class
Players will gain access to New Game Plus upon completing the game on any difficulty.
New Game Plus Guide: What Carries Over?
Along with unlocking Arval, Rhea, and Sothis, a variety of new Equipment will also be made available in exchange for Renown upon completing the game on any difficulty. It can be bought in the endgame or a New Game Plus file from your Personal Quarters.
A new type of accessory, Crest Accessories will give any character access to an associated Crest Ability, which can usually only be used by a specific character. However, they will activate less often that Crest Abilities of characters who have their Crest innately.
A new difficulty setting above Hard, Maddening Difficulty is the perfect place to try out your New Game Plus save file and see if your top-level characters can cut it!
