FEW3H - Permadeath Explained
In the Classic Mode of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, any downed units are lost from Chapter 4 onwards. Read on to learn more about permadeath, and how it affects the story!

What Happens When A Unit Dies?

In Classic Mode

FEW3H - Character Death

In Classic Mode, any unit that dies or is routed will become unusable and will be removed from the game. Any support conversations and the like will be inaccessible.

Important characters dying, such as the heads of the three houses or Shez, will result in a game over. But others who are important to the story may not die. Instead, they will be routed and later unable to fight alongside you.

Be sure to choose the right difficulty for you when playing on this mode!

Difference Between Difficulty Modes: Which Difficulty Should You Choose?

In Casual Mode

FEW3H - In Casual Mode

In Casual Mode, when allies or units hit zero HP, they are routed and must retreat. You will have access to them after the fight. But it one of the house leaders or Shez hit zero, it will be game over.

A Choice to Start Over

FEW3H - A Choice to Start Over
In the event of a Game Over, players will have the choice to restart the battle from the beginning, restart from a checkpoint, or return to the war map! Selecting this removes any weapons or resources gained, but keeps the level and experience gained!

What is Permadeath

Permadeath is a mechanic available only in the Classic Mode of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. With Permadeath, when a unit in Classic Mode dies, they are no longer playable.

Because they are considered dead, their support conversations can no longer be accessed. Note that this is only available after Chapter 4 of the story.
