Weapon triangles are the relationships between weapons and show their advantages or disadvantages in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes! Read on to learn what they mean, and how to gain an advantage!
Like previous Fire Emblem games, there is a weapon mechanic that dictates the Advantages and Disadvantages of weapons! It shows how one weapon can have an advantage over another and how they all connect.
This keeps a balance among classes in the game, and allows players to strategize when it comes to countering enemy units and attacks!
To make the most of it, players will need to learn to stack different abilities and effects to increase their advantage over their enemies.
Sword > Axe > Lance > Sword |
Bow > Gauntlet > Tome > Bow |
Bows have an advantage over Flying units, but this is not part of the Weapon Triangles above.
There are two weapon triangles in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes that show the advantages of each weapon over each other. For example, Swords have an advantage over Axes, Axes have an advantage over Lances, and Lances have an advantage over Swords!
When paired with abilities such as Bow Buster or Battalions that give a degree of advantage over Bow units, units and characters will have greater tiers of advantage in battle. These advantages or disadvantages can stack and are represented by blue/red arrows on the mini-map or in battle.
Advantage Icons can be found on the battle minimap, or in battle. These show whether your unit has an advantage over an enemy.
The greater the advantage, the greater the number of arrows, and the easier it is to decrease an Enemies Stun Gauge. The opposite is true for Disadvantages.
Weapon Triangle Meanings | |
---|---|
One Tier Greater Advantage | One Tier Greater Disadvantage |
Two Tier Greater Advantage | Two Tier Greater Disadvantage |
Three Tier Greater Advantage | Three Tier Greater Disadvantage |
Four Tier Greater Advantage | Four Tier Greater Disadvantage |
Five Tier Greater Advantage | Five Tier Greater Disadvantage |
Note that the maximum number of advantage/disadvantage tiers is 5.
Advantage can be determined by class and equipped abilities, battalions assigned to your unit, and whether your unit has effective attacks against an enemy.
Effective Class Abilities are those that give you an advantage or decrease damage taken from certain enemies. Since you can re-class characters, you're free to get new class abilities that suit your style best!
Classes Guide: All Class Stats and Abilities
Battalions each come with their own special abilities, allowing you to even the playing field or take advantage of enemy weaknesses! When paired with the right characters, it can greatly increase your advantage in battle!
These attacks are attacks with three tiers of advantage or more. They deal more damage and allow the Stun Gauge to be displayed on all attacks. This is done by pairing the right abilities, equipment, and the like to give yourself the best advantage over your foes.
If you're unsure which mix of abilities, equipment, and battalions will be the most efficient, try using the Optimize option!
