How to Get Chitin

Mined From the Back of Leviathans

Leviathan Island Chitin

Leviathans are docile creatures found in Ocean biomes that look like tiny islands with barnacle-like growth called Abyssal Barnacles. These growths can be mined with Pickaxes for some Chitin.

Leviathans Submerge After a While!

Leviathan Submerging

Be wary tho that once you start mining the growths, the Leviathan will start to move. It will move slowly at first and finally submerging itself after a while.

We suggest upgrading your Pickaxe so that you can mine faster before the Leviathan submerges itself.

Can Be Spawned with Console Command

If you don't mind using cheats to obtain it, Chitin can easily be spawned with the console command.

To spawn the item, first turn on cheat codes by typing devcommands in the F5 console, and use the spawn Chitin command to create the item.
