This is a guide on comfort levels and resting in Valheim. Read on to learn more about the different levels of comfort and the benefits of the Rested Bonus!
List of Contents
Your character will feel rested once they finish resting, thus granting them a Rested Bonus. With the Rested Bonus, your health and stamina regen is higher. You can keep track of how long your rested buff will be active with a timer on the top right corner of the screen.
Rested Bonuses | |
---|---|
Health Regen | +50% |
Stamina Regen | +100% |
Resting can only be achieved if your character is sheltered from the weather and is warmed by a cozy fire. This can be achieved by building a roof, using the cover of thick trees, or generally anything that shelters you from the elements. You know your character is resting when a Zzz symbol appears on your screen.
Resting Bonuses | |
---|---|
Health Regen | +200% |
Stamina Regen | +300% |
The Comfort Level of your character can affect their overall performance in-game as this can affect your Rested Bonus. In the start, it lasts for 7 minutes at zero comfort. For every comfort level, you add to it, it adds a minute to the buff, with the maximum being 24 minutes of the Rested Bonus.
Building a shelter, making a fire, and crafting furniture are the only ways to add comfort. The higher the comfort level, the longer the Rested Bonus.

Soap most likely originated from when people cooked food on a spit and the fat dripped on to the white ash in the fire and when combined with water it made a lather. Adding soap could introduce hygiene factors into the game. They could introduce it similar to how the hunger works, like, the better your hygiene, the more health/stamina you can gain. Making soap could consist of cooking meat over the spit, the fat mixing with ash and then mixing it with water could give you soap.
