What are Dungeons?

Dungeons are special areas within specific biomes that are inhabited by certain enemies and hold unique resources. Exploring these areas are important to progress through game since certain items are only obtainable inside them!

Do Dungeons Reset?

Keep in mind that enemies and resources gathered inside dungeons do not reset. The dungeon becomes an empty area once you've cleared it

Dungeon Locations and Types

Troll Cave

Valheim Troll Cave Dungeon.png
Troll Caves are located in Black Forest biomes, and their entrances can be distinguished by the presence of bonepiles in front.

Available Resources
Amber Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Amber Pearl Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Bone Fragments Enemy Drops from Skeletons.
Coins Obtained from chests, dungeons, trolls, and fulings
Deer Hide Enemy Drop from Deer.
Feathers Enemy Drop from Birds.
Leather Scraps Obtained from Boars or Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts.
Yellow Mushroom Can be gathered from dungeons.

Troll Cave Guide

Burial Chambers

Burial Chambers are located in Black Forest biomes. Be wary when approaching their stone entrances, as these tend to be guarded by Skeletons.

Amber Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Amber Pearl Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Bone Fragments Obtained from Skeletons, Chests, or Bone Piles.
Coins Obtained from chests, dungeons, trolls, and fulings
Feathers Enemy Drop from Birds or obtained from chests.
Ruby Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Surtling Core Obtained from Burial Chambers and Surtlings.
Yellow Mushroom Can be gathered from dungeons.

Burial Chamber Guide

Sunken Crypts

Valheim Sunken Crypts Dungeon.png
The Sunken Crypts are damp and dark dungeons located in Swamp biomes — Their entrances resemble mausoleums. The entrance of these particular dungeons are locked and require a Swamp Key from The Elder.

Its long and narrow hallways tend to be blocked by Muddy Scrap Piles. These scrap piles can only be broken via Pickaxes — Make sure you bring at least one with you!

Amber Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Amber Pearl Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Ancient Bark Obtained from Ancient Trees in the Swamp biome or from chests inside Sunken Crypts.
Chain Obtained from Wraiths or chests inside Sunken Crypts.
Coins Obtained from chests, dungeons, trolls, and fulings.
Leather Scraps Obtained from Boars, Chests, or Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts.
Ruby Obtained from chests, dungeons, and buried treasures.
Scrap Iron Mined from Muddy Scrap Piles in Sunken Crypts in the Swamp.
Withered Bone Mined from Muddy Scrap Piles or Chests in Sunken Crypts in the Swamp.
Yellow Mushroom Gathered from dungeons.
