Dungeons Guide.png

This is a comprehensive guide on the Dungeons found in Valheim! Read on to learn more about the different dungeon types and locations, if the enemies and resources in Dungeons reset or respawn, and more!

What are Dungeons?

Dungeons are locations in-game that comprise multiple floors and levels, each housing mobs of enemies and unique resources. Exploring some of the dungeons is important to progress in the early game since there are certain items that you can get by diving into dungeons that are necessary to summon bosses.

Do Dungeons Reset?

Keep in mind that enemies and resources gathered inside dungeons do not respawn. That means, once you have exhausted all of the materials inside, it will just be a hollow and empty hole.

Dungeon Locations and Types

Troll Cave

The Troll caves can be found in the Black Forest. The mouth of the troll caves will be littered with piles of bones, serving as a marker for the entrance of the cave. Found within the cave is a Troll lumbering about and unique loot like bone fragments, coins, and yellow mushrooms.

Sunken Crypts

The Sunken Crypts are damp and dark buildings that are found in the middle of the Swamp. The only way to access these crypts is with the Swamp Key which you can only get by defeating the Elder. Once you enter, you can only progress through the dungeon by destroying Muddy Scrap Piles which act as separators. By destroying these piles you can get scrap iron and leather scraps. Some rooms even contain chests which may contain a Rune Stone, a key Item for locating the boss Bonemass.

Burial Chambers

Burial Chambers are more commonly found in the Black Forest but there is a chance to find one in the Meadows. Inside these chambers, you can find items such as surtling cores for crafting portals and a Rune Stone for locating the Elder, a boss in the game.

    • Soap most likely originated from when people cooked food on a spit and the fat dripped on to the white ash in the fire and when combined with water it made a lather. Adding soap could introduce hygiene factors into the game. They could introduce it similar to how the hunger works, like, the better your hygiene, the more health/stamina you can gain. Making soap could consist of cooking meat over the spit, the fat mixing with ash and then mixing it with water could give you soap.
