Paper Mario: The Origami King (Switch) Walkthrough Comments
I just made the last comment below, and after testing it again I think I'm a little off. I think what the hand chooses actually has to do with how big it is. So if it hasn't grown at all, then it will never lie about what it's going to throw out. What it is showing when you start moving is what it will throw. However if you have tied with it and it has grown, then it will do what I said in my last comment. Past that, I'm not sure.
I'm fairly certain that the symbol the boss throws out is actually NOT random. I experimented a bit, and every time it would throw out the counter to whatever it showed last. So if it showed Rock, it would throw Paper, if it showed Paper, it would throw Scissors, and if it showed Scissors, it would throw Rock. Therefore if you throw out what was countered by what it showed, you would win every time. This is the strat I used, and it worked every time.
if you go on the second most inner ring to attack you only have to win twice. i used legendary hammer on the second most inner ring while olivia was trapped and then won rock paper scissors twice and beat him without a third try at RPS.
I think those hand symbols do matter but they just raise the percentage
He telegraphed scissors -> I threw rock, he threw rock, draw. He telegraphed paper -> I threw scissors, he threw scissors, draw. He telegraphed scissors again -> I tried paper, he threw rock, I won. He kept scissors out -> I threw paper, he threw scissors, I lost. He started with scissors then telegraphed rock -> I threw paper, he threw rock, I won. He telegraphed scissors -> I threw rock, he threw paper, I won. No clear pattern for me. Sometimes he lied, sometimes he didn't.
I have definitive details for the hint signs it throws. When there is roughly 30 seconds left on the timer, Handaconda will show the sign that it’s going to throw, but only for the first two rounds! On the final hit (when his health is down to a sliver), Handaconda will show the sign opposite of what beats him!! So for example, on the final hit, if he shows SCISSORS, then play PAPER, because he will play ROCK.
For me it always worked using the sign that would lose. Like when its showing scissors go for paper since Handaconda will go for rock.
Looks to me like the Handaconda shows what they’re going to throw while you’re arranging the board.
Equip gold time plus for more time. During the Rock Paper Scissors part just be patient and wait for the hand to show you want sign he’s going to do. It’s very easy to line up the board to beat him so the trick is being patient.
The Handaconda threw up a scissors sign so I went for rock and it worked so it gives you a sneak preview of what it’s going to throw :)
I made a typo... the Handaconda will show which symbol YOU should throw
Before you move the tiles, the Handaconda will show which symbol it will throw.
