☬Regalia☬ Basic Info

Regalia (stylized as ☬Regalia☬) is currently the strongest guild in MementoMori's World 9, holding a majority of the spots on its Guild Battle map as of this writing.

But Regalia is more than just a strong guild; it's also a story of how rivals can become allies. Game8 spoke with its guild master, DoT, to find out what Regalia is all about, as well as their tips for new players.

Vertical Investment is Critical

Regalia's guild master has one tip for all newcomers: Focus on vertical investment. "This game is ENTIRELY based on vertical investment. Stack one unit. PMDB (PM DEF Break) is king," they said, before adding that the more a player spends on anything other than their main carry unit, the worse off they get. "This holds true for a very, very long time," they explained.

In MementoMori's early-game, resources such as Kindling Orbs, Rune Tickets, and other items and currencies, are hard to come by. However, these same resources are also the keys to making your units more powerful.

It is better to invest all your best gear, resources, and runes (especially PM. DEF Break runes) in units that deal high damage like Cordie and Florence to progress as far as possible in the Main Quest and unlock other game modes like the Cave of Space-Time that gives you access to other useful support units like Merlyn.

Pull for Characters You Like

When it comes to pulling for new characters, DoT's advice is simple: "Early game, waifu," they said, before adding, "If you don't like your carry, then why bother? Once you have an established carry, pull units to support them."

However, in the late game, DoT said players should focus on pulling for characters based on what Arcanas they are a part of and the character's utility. "Strong Arcana (with buffs) like ATK% and CDMG% offer better value," they said.

Arcanas (unlocked after clearing Level 11-28 in the Main Quest) are groupings that, once you've got the characters needed for them, give those same characters certain buffs. If you Awaken characters within those Arcanas, the buffs increase and eventually get applied to all your characters.

Learn the Combat System

One of the key challenges DoT points out for new players is understanding the game’s combat system. "This game barely explains combat. It’s entirely up to the player to understand how damage is calculated, and what does what."

For example, DEF Break (either referred to in-game as DEF Break or PM. DEF Break) makes up about 80% of a character's damage output, according to DoT. "But it's never explained to you," they added, saying that this lack of clarity can leave players fumbling through menus trying to figure it all out on their own.

As of this writing, the game defines the PM. DEF Break stat as, "Deals damage by offsetting the damage reduction from the enemy's P. DEF and M. DEF." P. DEF lessens the damage a character takes from physical attacks, while M. DEF lessens damage taken from magic attacks. However, this explanation can only be found if you select the "Help" icon while viewing a witch's main stats stats in the Character menu.

Regalia: From Enemies to Guildmates

When asked how Regalia was formed, DoT called it a complicated story. "In short... we are enemies turned friends, through a year of getting to know each other," the guild master said. As of this writing, the guild holds double the total BP of the second-most-powerful guild in World 9, making it a guild to beat.

DoT says that forming bonds is part of the reason they continue to play the game to this day. "The people in my world, the people in the Discord - it's become a shared experience and at this point, I don't want to miss out!" they said. "Everyone I've met has been kind and helpful, which I think is rare in this kind of game. But because everyone plays it has learned and shared to teach those behind them, it's made a tight-knit group of people."

"We are unchallenged by every other guild," DoT also said. However, they also emphasized the importance of fostering a healthy ecosystem by encouraging growth and competition for all players within World 9. "What I hope is that with the space we leave, other small guilds will still form, grow, and feel like they have a chance."

If you happen to be on World 9 either as a new player or a returning one, Regalia could be the guild for you. "Regalia is open to anyone who wants to be war active, and tryhard a bit more than a casual guild," DoT said. "All are welcome."
