Darkbloom: A Chill Guild

Darkbloom prides itself on being a laid-back group with a peaceful environment and low-pressure gameplay, where players can grow at their own pace, free from the stress of competitive Guild Battles.

In fact, according to Not_A_Bot, Darkbloom has never participated in guild battles since its inception, focusing instead on dailies, quiet gaming, and fostering a friendly atmosphere. “It’s like a smile-and-wave at the neighbor in-game, then log out,” the guild master said.

Another thing the guild seeks to offer players is a space where MementoMori can be enjoyed without stress or aggression. "I do not abide aggression," said Not_A_Bot. "This game meets my needs for quiet gaming without large time demands. Others here are mostly polite. I value that highly."

Simple Advice for New Players

For new players just starting their journey in MementoMori, Not_A_Bot offers simple but essential advice: "Enjoy the game. It is the very advice I give beginners." They also note that resources like the guide featured by Usagi (one of the major guilds on World 8) on their Discord have been invaluable in helping new players learn the ropes: "I recall sending EVERYBODY there."

Though like any game, MementoMori comes with its own set of challenges, and even seasoned players like Not_A_Bot have encountered a few head-scratchers. "Honestly, the only times I was stumped were how to unlock LR+6 and then how to unlock LR+7," they said.

To awaken a character past LR+5, look at what Arcana group it belongs to. Once you get all witches in that Arcana group to LR+5, you will unlock LR+6 rarity for them. To get your character to LR+7 rarity, you will have to make sure all other characters in the Arcana group are at LR+6.

However, since Darkbloom focuses more on enjoying the game than on competitive min-maxing, such details haven’t become a source of frustration for the guild. "We’re less competitive in my guild, so the details seem less urgent," Not_A_Bot said.

The origins of Darkbloom are tied to a player by the same name, who founded the guild before Not_A_Bot became GM.

"Darkbloom made the guild, then soon discovered he needed to help raise their new arrival," shared Not_A_Bot. "We wish him happiness. His account is still tucked away in the roster." Since then, the guild has thrived under new leadership, becoming a quiet haven for like-minded players.

A Casual Place to Chill Out on World 8? Choose Darkbloom

Darkbloom doesn’t aggressively recruit, and the guild is open to players who are content with a more casual experience. "When new gamers do their first search, that’s when we’ll get someone to join," says Not_A_Bot. The guild’s no-pressure philosophy extends even to members who want to leave. "We are a safe place to get stronger. If one is bored, it is okay to bail."
