The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain Puzzle Solution

Find the Inscribed Shield

The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain obtained by solving a lava caves statue puzzle, whose clues are inscribed on a shield in the middle of four statues. Note that the clue on the shield is not necessary to solve the puzzle.

The poem on the shield is key to the solution, as lines allude to the direction each statue has to face. Further clues come from other knight statues in the area, that will help identify which knight held which weapon.

Find the Statues

Lava Caves Statue Puzzle Locations

The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain puzzle is connected to four statues of knights, scattered throughout Sharksmouth Cave. These statues will indicate what weapon was equipped to which knight, with their locations listed below.

Once again, note that finding the statues is not needed start solving the puzzle, as these statues act more as hints than quest flags.

Knight Ser Cruach

At the end of a stone path, you will find two stone platforms. Have Harding or the Lyrium Dagger raise the platforms, then climb towards the statue. This is the statue of Ser Cruach, who wields a hammer.

Knight Ser Dheon

The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain's second knight statue can be found in a blighted house, surrounded by enemies.

Defeat the nearby darkspawn and mercenaries before clearing out the Blight Boils surrounding the destroyed house. Inside is the statue of Ser Dheon, who wields a sword.

Knight Ser Rian

The third knight statue of The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain can be found by clearing out the Blight Boils covering a far section of the wall when tracking its quest marker. This is a statue of Ser Rian, who wields a bow.

Knight Ser Ifean

Have Lucanis or the Lyrium Dagger summon a platform that you can use to cross a gap. Jump onto a wooden beam and make your way toward the statue of Ser Ifean. Ser Ifean wields a shield.

After gathering information from these statues, return to the other four statues and rotate them to face the correct way. Players can check the shields near the statues to discover which statue is which.

Solve the Lava Caves Statue Puzzle

When rotating the statues, follow the directions on the inscribed shield with the center of the room as the front. To solve the puzzle, the stautes must be facing the following directions (from left to right):

• The first statue must be facing front.
• The second statue must be facing the back.
• The third statue must be facing right.
• The last statue must be facing left.

Interact with the statues to to change where they are facing.

Claim The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain

The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain will become available once the statues are facing the right way. A gate will open in the distance; make your way to the now-unlocked treasure room for your rewards, including the Unique Item Meredith's Legacy.

How to Unlock the Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain Quest

The Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain is unlocked by picking up the inscribed shield on the ground or examining the shield at the vault door of the treasure room nearby after doing the Warden Grey's Final Repose quest.

Do note that players must have Sharksmouth Mountain unlocked to begin the mentioned quest; Sharksmouth Mountain unlocks upon finishing Taash's Lair of the Dragon King companion quest.
