Should You Upgrade the Pickaxe?

No, You Don't Need to Refine Pickaxe

Don

You don't need to upgrade your pickaxe to get more ore when mining. Higher refinements of your pickaxe only increases its attack but will not unlock anything to help with mining so just save your materials for your weapons instead.

Upgrade a Mining Knuckledrill to Get More Ore Drops

Max Refinement Mining Knuckledrill

If you want to get more ore when you're out mining, you should just instead use and refine a Mining Knuckledrill. It even lets you mine ore that you can't reach with your pickaxe.

It starts with Mining Mastery same as a pickaxe but with a 10% chance to mine additional ore. At max refinement, the chance goes up to 30% and Mining Mastery becomes Expert Mining.

Dude, the Mining Drill sucks and gives less Ores/Minerals, even when upgraded, than the pickaxe completely base. Update your guide
