Counter is a skill that can be learned by multiple characters in Crimson Desert. Read on to learn how to unlock Counter for each character and see info on its effects.
List of Contents
| Character | Unlock Condition |
|---|---|
| Kliff | Observe the two soldiers in Hernand Castle’s training yard or Lioncrest Manor as they slowly practice blocking attacks. |
| Damiane, and Oongka | Raise Keen Senses to Lv. 3 |
| Hernand Castle | ![]() The two soldiers can be found in the northern part of Hernand Castle, in the training grounds area. |
|---|---|
| Lioncrest Manor | ![]() These two soldiers can be found directly behind Lioncrest Manor. |
Kliff can unlock the Counter skill upgrade for Keen Senses for free by observing two spear-wielding soldiers training together, where one slowly teaches the other how to counter attacks. Since there are several soldiers training in different locations, keep an eye out for pairs facing each other with spears to get a chance to learn Counter.
To observe the soldiers, approach and wait for an Observe prompt in the bottom right of the screen. When it appears, press and hold LB (Xbox), Ctrl (PC), or L1 (PS5) to learn the skill.
Unfortunately, unlocking the Counter skill for free will not automatically raise its parent skill, Keen Senses, to level 3. You will still need to spend an Abyss Artifact if you want to get Keen Senses Lv. 3.
Both Damiane and Oongka can unlock Counter by upgrading its parent skill, Keen Senses, to level 3 using Abyss Artifacts in the Skill Tree menu. Upgrading Keen Senses for one character does not carry over to the others, so you’ll need to upgrade it separately for each character to unlock Counter for them.
