How to Unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency

Unarmed Combat Proficiency is a skill that can be learned by multiple characters in Crimson Desert. Read on to learn how to unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency for each character and see info on its effects.

How to Unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency

Character Unlock Condition
Kliff Can be learned by observing groups of children practicing martial arts. It can also be learned early by spending 1 Abyss Artifact.
Damiane and Oongka Raise Unarmed Combat to Lv. 3

Observe the Children Practicing Martial Arts as Kliff

Greymane Camp
Greymane Camp Kids
One group of children can be found in the Greymane Camp (outside your tent) once you expand it after beating the Reed Devil.
Communal Training Grounds
Unarmed Combat Proficiency in the Communal Training Grounds
A different group of children can also be observed in the Communal Training Grounds to the southwest of Hernand's capital.

Kliff can unlock the Unarmed Combat Proficiency upgrade for Unarmed Combat for free by finding and observing groups of children practicing martial arts. Keep an eye out for children on the streets and check if they’re training for a chance to unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency through observation.

To observe the kids, approach and wait for an Observe prompt in the bottom right of the screen. When it appears, press and hold LB (Xbox), Ctrl (PC), or L1 (PS5) to learn the skill.

Unfortunately, unlocking the Unarmed Combat Proficiency skill for free will not automatically raise its parent skill, Unarmed Combat, to level 3. You will still need to spend an Abyss Artifact if you want to get Unarmed Combat Lv. 3.

Spend 1 Abyss Artifact to Unlock it Early for Kliff

If you're rocking an unarmed build, you can opt to unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency early by spending 1 Abyss Artifact to raise its parent skill, Unarmed Combat, to level 3.

Best Ways to Farm Abyss Artifacts

Upgrade Unarmed Combat to Level 3 as Damiane or Oongka

Both Damiane and Oongka can unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency by upgrading its parent skill, Unarmed Combat, to level 3 using Abyss Artifacts in the Skill Tree menu. Upgrading Unarmed Combat for one character does not carry over to the others, so you’ll need to upgrade it separately for each character to unlock Unarmed Combat Proficiency for them.
