After obtaining Axiom Force, hold L3 (PS5), LS (Xbox), or Tab (keyboard) to aim it, then release the button to activate it. It will latch onto the target, allowing you to move them when applicable.
Axiom Force lets you move objects easily when you latch onto them. This is especially useful when solving puzzles that require you to put, align, and move objects to the right place.
The first puzzle that introduces Axiom Force tasks you with rotating discs to align the circuit. If you're having trouble rotating them, grapple the very edge of the discs to make rotating and aligning them easier.
Axiom Force works as if you are pulling on what it latched on. So if you latch onto the edge of the disc, you can rotate the disc much more easily since there is a wider range of movement.

At Axiom Force level 2, you gain access to Aerial Maneuver, which lets you launch yourself in the air after grabbing onto something. This is handy for quick bursts of movement or if you want to get on top of something.
When you level Axiom Force to level 3, you can now use Aerial Swing, letting you grab onto something and then swing in the direction you want. This leads to more movement options when you use Axiom Force for movement.

You can grab combat upgrades for the Axiom Force in the Health tree called Winch and Ambush, giving you more options in combat.

Midway through the Chapter 1 main quest, Traces, a white crow will grant Kliff a bracelet that unlocks the Axiom Force skill. Simply watch the cutscene unfold to automatically unlock this skill.
