1. Where Rumors Gather
| 1.1 | Look Around Hernand Tavern |
|---|---|
 From your tent, head to the south of town and enter the Hernand Tavern. |
|
| 1.2 | Try Arm Wrestling |
 Inside, speak to the guard on the table, and beat him in Arm Wrestling. To do so, simply spam Square or X on your controller. |
2. Mysterious Man
| 2.1 | Give a Coin to The Old Beggar |
|---|---|
 Leave the tavern and turn left to find the beggar and give him a coin. In return, he will give you a key along with an additional 3 inventory slots. |
3. True Wisdom in Kindness
| 3.1 | Investigate the Sewer |
|---|---|
 Next, find and open the trapdoor underneath where the beggar was sitting, and climb down to the sewer. Turn on your Lantern to see better in the dark. Jump across the falling floors to help the Noble, who will give you a letter in return. Return to the ladder you entered from to exit the sewer. |
4. Actions Speak Louder than Words
| 4.1 | Help the Distressed Villagers |
|---|---|
 Go towards the outskirts of town to help the distressed couple. Grab the broom by the door and equip it in the radial menu on the inventory screen. Then, climb the roof through the boxes at the back. To use the broom, select it in the radial menu to hold it, then hold LB/L1 to target the chimney and RB/R1 to begin cleaning. Your target must be exactly on the chimney hole for it to work. |
5. Heart Beyond Borders
| 5.1 | Speak with the Child |
|---|---|
 Head back into town and speak with the child in the green hood. Help her get her cat back by climbing the roof, chasing the cat a bit, then carry it when it stops. |

| 5.2 | Return the Cat to its Owner |
 After climbing back down and returning the cat, the child will leave. Pick up the Shai’s Pendant the child leaves behind. This finishes Trials of Kindness and leads to the next questline, Traces. ▶ Traces Walkthrough |
