1. Unfamiliar Lands

1.1 Head to the Cabin
Ambush Step 1
Head towards the cabin with your Greymane allies. Inside, speak to them before heading back out.

2. In Ashes

2.1 Annihilate the Black Bears
In Ashes Step 1
Exit the cabin and hold off the Black Bear attack. Fight off any invaders, and go towards Oongka to help him.
2.2 Help Your Greymane allies
In Ashes Step 2
After attempting to help Oongka, head towards Yann and try to help him as well. Be careful, as each battle cutscene is followed by a quick-time event that starts a fight.
2.3
In Ashes Step 3
You will find yourself fighting Myurdin and his Black Bears alone in a scripted boss fight, that would not matter whether you lose or not. It is possible to defeat him, although you gain no extra rewards and the game will progress the same.
2.4
In Ashes Step 4
After dying, you will wake up in the Abyss. This marks the start of the Unknown Space mission.

Ambush Rewards

No Rewards Regardless if You Defeat Myurdin

While Myurdin is possible to defeat in the tutorial, you will get no extra rewards despite the efforts. The story will progress normally with the same cutscenes.
