+Spd / -Def

The best IVs for Winter Hortensia are +Spd and -Def. Spd is a superboon and boosts Hortensia's Spd from base 48 to base 52, allowing her to keep up with all the fast metagame foes. Hortensia's Spd is also used in the calculation of Snowman Staff's bonus true damage and bonus Atk/Spd in combat, indirectly increasing her damage output.

Boosting Spd also improves her capacity to generate follow-up attacks against her foes with the help of Snowman Staff's Null Follow-Up effect.

Winter Hortensia's Def is a clear dump stat and can be safely taken as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 merge
