When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-Res

Spring Bruno's recommended IVs are +Spd and -Res. With his superboon in Spd, Bruno gains +4 with an asset in this stat. His base Spd is rather low, so picking it up to 28 should help prevent the number of follow-up attacks he takes from foes.

If you wish to use him to tank physical attacks. +Def and -Res would be the ideal IVs. With his high Def stat among staff users, Bruno can fill two roles if you need a unit who can both tank attacks and heal allies.

How to Use, Explanation

First of all, upgrade Pain+ to give it the Wrathful Staff refinement. In order to get the most of Spring Bruno’s mobility, have him act as a physical wall, deal splash damage to foes, and heal allies. Since he already has Dazzling Staff, he can safely deal splash damage to weaken foes via Savage Blow.

We recommend the Wrathful Staff Refinement!

Bruno's weapon has two special effect refinements. While they are both extremely useful for staff attackers, Bruno has Dazzling Staff by default, so unless you would like to swap out his A slot for another skill, we recommend getting the Wrathful Staff upgrade, as it will calculate the damage from his staff like other weapons, allowing him to effecvtively deal double damage.

Spring Bruno is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat, if he has Wrathful Staff equipped.

Spring Bruno's Strengths

Heals himself and adjacent allies every turn

S!Bruno's weapon skill, Ovoid Staff+, restores 7 HP to him and ajacent allies at the start of every turn. Paring this skill with heroes like Brave Celica or Alm, who need full HP to activate skills, can be a very effective method of team synergy.

Can attack while stopping an enemy counterattack

Dazzling Staff will prevent an enemy from counterattacking. Being able to attack foes like Fjorm who have skills that allow them to counterattack at any range can give Bruno a huge advantage.

Gains an Atk/Def bonus when HP is at 100%

Through Atk/Def Push 3, Bruno can gain an additional Atk/Def +5 when his HP is at 100%. After attacking, it will deal 1 damage to him, but since the effects of Ovoid Staff lets him heal every turn, it is very easy to activate.

Cannot enter forests, weak to cavalry-effective skills

As a cavalry unit, S!Bruno will take a ton of damage from weapons that are effective on cavalry units like Ridersbane. Pay close attention to the weapons your foes are using!
