What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants 【Hexblade】 and Special cooldown charge skipping to unit and allies at the start of each turn, and grants bonus Atk/Spd, bonus true damage, and damage reduction to unit during combat. |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Effective against flying foes. Enables 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 during turns 1 through 4. At the start of turns 1 through 4, grants Special cooldown count-3 to unit, grants Special cooldown count-1 to allies within 2 spaces of unit (excluding unit), and grants 【Hexblade】 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd = 20% of unit's Spd at start of combat, unit deals damage = 20% of unit's Spd (including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 30% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes). |
Cooldown Count = 4 Before combat this unit initiates, foes in an area near target take damage equal to 1. 5x (unit’s Atk minus foe’s Def or Res). |
Grants Atk/Spd+8. Inflicts Def/Res-8. At start of player phase or enemy phase, neutralizes 【Panic】 and any penalties to unit's Atk/Spd that take effect on unit at this time. |
Inflicts Def/Res-3 on foe and additional penalty to foe's Def/Res = 6 - current penalty on each of those stats during combat (min 0; calculates each stat penalty independently; still inflicts penalty on foe even if foe triggers an effect that neutralizes penalties during combat). If penalty is active on foe's Def or Res, inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack). After combat, inflicts Def/Res-6 on foe through its next action. |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Niðavellir are +Spd and -Res. Niðavellir relies on his Spd stat to increase his damage output with the help of Niðavellir Ballista. +Atk is also a beneficial IV to increase the damage output of his pre-charged area-of-effect Specials.
Niðavellir's Res is his least important stat as it won't impact too many of his matchups; he will still be likely to fall in combat if an enemy manages to attack him first.
We recommend +Spd when merging Niðavellir to +10 to ensure he outspeeds his foes and can both generate and prevent follow-up attacks.

This build aims to deal as much pre-combat damage as possible with an area-of-effect Special and Assassin's Strike, leaving the foe vulnerable to defeat on Niðavellir's first attack. Verge of Death, Life and Death, and Incite Atk/Spd all increase the visible Atk/Spd stats to maximize area-of-effect damage. Emblem Celica's Emblem effect is used to allow Niðavellir to reach his foes and nuke them down before they can reach him.

Niðavellir's base kit works on a budget as well to deal as much area-of-effect damage as possible. Rouse Atk/Spd 3 increases Niðavellir's visible Atk/Spd stats to deal more area-of-effect damage.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Niðavellir is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Niðavellir's exclusive weapon Niðavellir Ballista grants 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 during turns 1 through 4, giving Niðavellir exceptional mobility compared to other ranged cavalry units.
Niðavellir Ballista also grants Niðavellir Special cooldown count-3 and 【Hexblade】 at the start of turns 1 through 4, immediately pre-charging his Special skill. The Special skipping effect is devastating when paired with hard hitting Specials or area-of-effect Specials, as Niðavellir can immediately nuke down his foes with ease using his high mobility before they can even reach him. The 【Hexblade】 effect is more niche, but can also be useful when facing sturdy physical tanks.
Niðavellir Ballista also grants Special cooldown count-1 and 【Hexblade】 to allies within 2 spaces at the start of turns 1 through 4. While these effects aren't as good as the ones Niðavellir grants himself, these are also incredibly beneficial and can even stack with similar effects like Time's Pulse 4 to immediately pre-charge the Special skills of his allies.
In combat, Niðavellir Ballista grants Niðavellir Atk/Spd+6, bonus Atk/Spd equal to 20% of his Spd, true damage equal to 20% of his Spd, and 30% damage reduction on his foe's first attack. The offensive effects work very well to amplify Niðavellir's nuking power even more, while the damage reduction helps Niðavellir withstand his foe's counterattack should they somehow survive Niðavellir's initial nuke.
Niðavellir takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Niðavellir comes with Verge of Death and Seal Def/Res 3 as inheritable options.
We recommend saving your copy of Niðavellir and using him instead. Verge of Death is good on units that require high visible Atk such as area-of-effect Special abusers, but that's pretty much it.

I don't see how y'all have this character a 9.5 (S), but the new mythic astra character eikthyrnir as a 9.0 (A)... Makes no sense.
