+Atk/-Spd

The best IVs for V!Roy are +Atk and -Spd. A +Atk IV will add to V!Roy's already high Atk stat. This will also allow him to mamximize his damage using the highly recommended Brave Bow+. V!Roy's Spd is already low and most V!Roy kits would want to use a Brave Bow+ that allows him to perform 2 attacks anyway, so it is safe to take Spd as a superbane.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a build using Brave Bow+. Stacking Atk/Def Catch will increase his overall damage and physical bulk, while A/D Far Trace and Atk/Def Menace debuffs enemy units. Far Trace will also allow him to retreat to safety after combat.

How to Use, Explanation

This build takes advantage of the natural tankiness of the unit in tandem with Quick Riposte 3 to enable them to deal tons of damage in the enemy phase. Ignis will leverage the huge Def stats Roy will have and convert it to damage.

V!Roy is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

V!Roy Strengths

A Mobile and Ranged Attacker

Being one of the few cavalry bow users, V!Roy can move 3 squares and attack units within 2 squares of him. This gives him excellent range. If equipped with a Brave Bow+, his high Atk and high range can allow him to take out high threat units in the Arena or Grand Hero Battles instantly.

Neutralizes Ranged Foes' Bonuses

Gratia+ neutralizes the foe's bonuses if they are ranged units. However, it doesn't disable bonuses that activate when foe initates or enters combat.

Bow Valor 3 Makes Training Bow Users Easier

Bow Valor 3 doubles the SP gained of bow users in the map as long as V!Roy is alive. This reduces the levels needed for them to get strong skills and allows them to get stronger sooner. This also stacks with the weekend 2x SP bonus, allowing you to get 12 SP from each unit defeated.

V!Roy Weaknesses

Low Spd

Valentine's Roy has a very low Spd stat, and it's not worth trying to get it up to average levels. However, his Atk is very high and it is best for him to inherit Brave Bow+, a weapon that enables him to attack twice if he initiates combat, at the cost of lowering his Spd. This allows him to eliminate many units in one turn ,similar to what Reinhardt can do, as he has high Atk and low Spd, but the ability to attack twice.

Weak to Anti-Cavalry Skills

Valentine's Roy is a Cavalry unit, making him weak to skills against such units such as Ridersbane+. If attacked by a unit with Ridersbane+, V!Roy will take 1.5x damage. Be mindful of what skills your enemies are equipped with.
