+Spd / -Res

The best IVs for Hardin are +Spd and -Res.

His Spd is up there with the fastest units in the metagame, and the various Atk/Spd buffs in his kit only enhance this. He will be reliant on Spd to get follow-up attacks against enemies that neutralize guaranteed follow-ups, which are abundant in the metagame.

His Res is abysmal and is a safe bane to take without affecting any of his matchups.

+Spd for a +10 merge

We recommend +Spd when merging Hardin for similar reasons above. His Spd is his most important stat and should be boosted as much as possible.

Hardin's exclusive Coyote's Lance accelerates his Special trigger, grants Atk/Spd+6 to himself during combat, reduces damage from his foe's first attack by 40%, and grants bonus true damage equal to distance travelled by the combat initiator, up to a maximum of 9 damage.

On top of all that, it also grants Atk/Spd+6 and a guaranteed follow-up attack on initiation to himself and nearby cavalry allies.

This weapon allows Hardin to heavily load up on offense and rush the enemies down quickly with the aid of cavalry allies. The damage reduction effect of Coyote's Lance, the healing from Surge Sparrow, and the mobility from A/S Near Trace 3 should keep him alive from the remaining enemies.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Hardin takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
