When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-HP

The best IVs for Valentine's Ike are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Valentine's Ike to gain even more follow-up attacks, and each follow-up will increase the effect of Special Fighter. This boosts both his offensive and survivability capabilities. HP is the least important of his stats and can safely be taken as a bane, and then increased through the Weapon Refinery.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Valentine's Ike to 10. With a +Spd IV, Ike's Spd stat will reach 45 with 10 merges, which further increases the amount of units he can land follow-up attacks on. If you want a tankier Ike, you can just use a +Res base and use buffs to increase his Spd instead.

How to Use, Explanation

This build uses Ike as a tank in the frontlines. Crafty Fighter and Steady Breath provide both a Guard effect and Special acceleration for Ike to reliably trigger his Special.

How to Use, Explanation

Since Valentine's Ike already has decent Def levels, this build aims to balance it out by improving his Res levels. This allows him to become an omni-tank! The build is also filled with tools to help him proc Radiant Aether a bit more consistently. If you prefer a more defensive, sustainable set, you can swap out Steady Breath for Mystic Boost 3.

Valentine's Ike is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Valentine Ike Strengths

Can counterattack regardless of range

V!Ike's Distant Counter allows him to counterattack enemies regardlress of range as long has they do not have abilities that neutralize this effect. Combined with Radiant Aether and Special Fighter 3, it makes him a good enemy phase unit, even against many bow or tome users.

Can speed up his special and slow down the foe's with Special Fighter

Special Fighter 3 grants Valentine's Ike +1 special cooldown charge if he is ≥ 50% at the start of combat. Additionally, it also inflicts -1 cooldown charge on enemy per attack. This allows him to activate the powerful Radiant Aether more often, and makes it hard for the enemy to activate their specials, which is extremely helpful for maps like Grand Hero Battles.

Radiant Aether and Special Fighter 3 increase Ike's survivability

V!Ike's exclusive special skill, Radiant Aether, treats foe's Def and Res as if they are reduced by 50%, and it also heals him for 50% of the damage dealt. It is powerful, but it has a pretty long cooldown. However, Special Fighter 3 makes up for this, as it grants Valentine's Ike +1 cooldown charge per attack if his HP ≥ 50%.
