What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants bonus stats to unit during combat, neutralizes effects that slow down unit's Special cooldown charges, de-pulses foe's Special cooldown by up to -3 before combat, and neutralizes effects that prevent unit's counterattacks from ranged foes. ・Exclusive Special skill neutralizes foe's non-Special damage reduction skills, and reduces damage from ranged foe's next attack. ・Duo Skill grants Def/Res+6, 【Hexblade】, 80% AoE damage reduction, and neutralizes armor weakness. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Def/Res+5 to unit, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Def/Res = 20% of unit's Res at start of combat, and neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit during combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, foe's attack can trigger foe's Special, and unit's Res ≥ foe's Res+5, inflicts Special cooldown count+X on foe before foe's first attack (X = number of spaces from start position to end position of whoever initiated combat, max 3; if unit triggers Savior, value is treated as 3; cannot exceed the foe's maximum Special cooldown). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe's Range = 2, neutralizes effects that prevent unit's counterattacks during combat. |
Cooldown Count = 2 Boosts damage by X% of unit's Atk when Special triggers (if in combat against a dragon foe or beast foe, X = 50; otherwise, X = 25). If Special triggers, neutralizes foe's "reduces damage by X%" effects from non-Special skills. If foe's Range = 2 and unit or foe's Special is ready or triggered before or during this combat, reduces damage from foe's next attack by 30% (once per combat; excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
Grants HP+5. At start of combat, if unit's HP > 50%, grants Atk/Res+7 to unit during combat, and also, if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally with HP > 50%, inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack). |
At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, inflicts Atk/Def-4 on foe, unit and foe cannot make a follow-up attack, reduces damage from foe's first attack by X% (if foe can make a follow-up attack, X = 80; otherwise, X = 40), and reduces damage from foe's follow-up attack by 40% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes; likewise, "follow-up attack" normally means the second strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the third and fourth strikes), and restores 7 HP to unit after combat. |
If a foe uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff and initiates combat against an ally with 2 spaces of unit, triggers【Savior】on unit. If unit triggers Savior, grants Atk/Res+4 during combat. 【Savior】 Unit takes ally’s space, enters combat in ally’s place, and receives all after-combat effects. Doesn't trigger if ally is on terrain that unit can't move to or if multiple units are able to use Savior during the same combat. If Savior triggers, after-combat movement effects don't occur. |
Duo Skill |
---|
Grants Def/Res+6, "reduces damage from area-of-effect Specials by 80% (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials)," and 【Hexblade】 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit for 1 turn. Grants the following effect to unit for 1 turn: "Neutralizes 'effective against armored' bonuses." (Duo Skills can be used once per map by tapping the Duo button. Duo Skills cannot be used by units deployed using Pair Up.) |
Duel |
---|
If unit is 5★ and level 40 and unit's stats total less than 205, treats unit's stats as 205 in modes like Arena. (Higher-scoring opponents will appear. Stat total calculation excludes any values added by merges and skills.) |

See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Winter Byleth (M) are +Res and -Spd. Boosting Res improves Byleth's chances of winning the Res check for Holy Yule Blade, de-pulsing his foes before combat to protect Byleth from Special skills.
Winter Byleth (M)'s Spd stat is abysmal at only base 18, and no amount of investment will allow him to outspeed his foes or protect himself from follow-up attack against foes with Null Follow-Up effects. Thus, it is a safe bane to take.
We recommend +Res when merging Winter Byleth (M) up to +10 to ensure he wins the Res check for Holy Yule Blade and increase the Atk/Def/Res he gains with it as well.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Winter Byleth (M) is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Winter Byleth (M)'s exclusive weapon Holy Yule Blade has a built-in Distant Counter effect, allowing him to counterattack against ranged foes.
In combat, Holy Yule Blade grants Byleth Atk/Def/Res+5, an additional Atk/Def/Res bonus equal to 20% of his Res, and neutralizes effects that slow down his Special cooldown charges during combat.
If Byleth's foe has an offensive Special skill and Byleth wins a Res check, Holy Yule Blade inflicts a Special cooldown count penalty of up to -3 based on the number of spaces moved by the unit initiating combat, and is automatically -3 if Byleth triggered a Savior effect.
Finally, Holy Yule Blade also neutralizes sweep effects from ranged foes, allowing him to counterattack against ranged foes that prevent his counterattacks such as Legendary Hinoka.
Winter Byleth (M)'s exclusive Special Supreme Heaven is a new skill in line with the typical Byleth Special, dealing bonus damage against beasts and dragons.
Triggering Supreme Heaven neutralizes foe's non-Special damage reduction effects, and if Byleth is facing a ranged foe and either his or his foe's Special is ready or already triggered before or during combat, Supreme Heaven reduces damage from his foe's next attack by 30%.
Non-Special damage reduction effects are very common in today's metagame, and triggering Supreme Heaven neutralizes a key component of current top metagame units, allowing Byleth to heavily dent his foes.
Winter Byleth (M)'s Duo Skill grants Def/Res+6, 【Hexblade】, and 80% damage reduction against area-of-effect Specials to himself and all nearby allies for 1 turn. It also neutralizes Byleth's armor weakness for 1 turn.
As a top tier Savior unit, area-of-effect Specials are what can deal heavy damage to Byleth before combat. This Duo Skill protects himself against that, and it even removes his armor weakness for one turn. Using this Duo Skill on a critical turn can swing the momentum in your favor.
Winter Byleth (M) takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Randgríðr, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
