Atk (16) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (1) | ★★★★☆ | |
Def (13) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (3) | ★☆☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Draug are +Atk and -Res. Draug has low offensive power, so a +Atk IV can help patch this problem of his. His Res is already low, and he is not really built for tanking magical attacks so it is safe to take it as his bane.
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Draug to 10. With a +Spd IV, Draug's Spd stat will reach 39 with 10 merges. This improves both his bulk and offensive power, as it makes him less susceptible to follow-up attacks, and helps him make many follow-up attacks on his own.

This is a build for Draug that uses Wo Dao and Wrath to boost damage when his Special triggers. Sol or Noontime will give him sustain, almost enough to mitigate the effects of Fury 4. Hardy Bearing will allow him to bypass units that use Vantage or Brave Ike's weapon refine.

Arcane Éljúðnir breathes new life into Draug, turning him into a red Brave Hector that restores armor weakness and gains Guard. This makes him a formidable Near Save unit capable of tanking physical attacks for the team. Penalties aren't neutralized, thus we use Atk/Def Unity to reverse them instead.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: +3 If foe initiates combat, inflicts Atk-6 on foe during combat. If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Def+5 to unit and neutralizes unit's penalties to Atk/Def during combat. :500 :200 |
|
The special effect refine for Stalwart Sword is fairly easy to trigger, as it only requires an ally be be within 2 spaces of Draug, but it provides a fair +5 Atk/Def. It increases Draug's firepower and greatly improves his ability to tank physical attacks. Additionally, it neutralizes any penalties to Atk/Def making Draug able to soak penalties that would otherwise harm his utility.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Draug is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Draug's Def reaches 39 at Lv. 40. This is without merges or Dragonflowers. Additionally, his weapon and skill effects can increase his durability even further, making him a great go-to physical tank unit.
Draug has fairly high Spd or 32 at Lv.40, on top of his amazingly high Def stat. If you are able to further increase his Spd through buffs or merges, his durability will increase as he will be less susceptible to follow-up attacks.
Draug's Res only sits at 18 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Draug's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.
