+Spd/-Def

The best IVs for Valentine's Soren are +Spd and -Def. A higher Spd stat allows Valentine's Soren to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. It also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks! His Def is very unreliable and is of less importance and thus safe to be taken as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Valentine's Soren to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. With this IV, he reaches a 40 Spd which is a fair range. If you prefer relying on skills to increase Soren's Spd, you can go for a +Atk IV instead.

How to Use, Explanation

A Blade tome set for Soren that also integrates Fury-Desperation. Fury sets Desperation for consecutive attacks. If his Blade tome is set properly with buffs, Soren will hit hard twice if they score the follow-up attack under Desperation range! It requires some setup, but it can be a very effective build.

Valentine's Soren is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Valentine's Soren Strengths

Blárblooms+ grants all-stat buff

Valentine's Soren's weapon, Blárblooms+, has the simple effect of granting him +3 Atk/Spd/Def/Res to him during combat if he is adjacent to an ally. Despite the pretty simple trigger condition, the buff is pretty good. Make sure to fight adjacent an ally as much as possible.

Because of his cavalry movement, it is fairly easy to initiate an attack while being adjacent to an ally. This stacks both Blárblooms+ and Atk/Res Bond 3 granting Soren +8 Atk/Res +3 Spd/Def.

Powerful high-SP assist skill in Rally Atk/Spd+

Valentine's Soren has a great assist skill in Rally Atk/Spd+. Primarily, it is a Atk/Spd buff that can be used on your allies to boost their Atk/Spd by +6. It interacts with Soren's Spd Feint 3 to inflict a -7 Spd on enemies. Both combined create a HUGE Spd gap that makes it easy for your allies to nail follow-up attacks on the enemy!

These buffs and the -Spd debuff can easily be exploited by a Blade tome unit like Tharja so it can be said that even base kit Soren is already powerful ally to pair Blade tome units with.

It is also a high-SP skill so it can be definitely used to increase your score in the Arena

Spd Feint Debuffs Enemy Spd

Valentine's Soren's Spd Feint 3 inflicts -7 Spd to enemies in cardinal directions whenever he uses or receive an assist skill. As he has a native assist skill in Rally Atk/Spd+, he can easily utilize Spd Feint 3. One of the strengths of this skill is that you can apply it just by positioning Soren properly and not having to rely on possessing the higher stats, etc.

Casts a bonus on ally with high Res

The C skill Res Opening 3 is a buff skill that gives +6 to the Res of the ally who has the highest Res stat. This skill has good synergy with heroes that make good use of their Res stat such as Fallen Julia, who heavily relies on Res to tank magic users and to boost her firepower. This buff will be granted regardless of Soren's position on the map.
