When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Young Ike's best IVs are +Atk/-Res. His Atk is a superboon and boosting it will yield better returns.
His Res is below average and reducing it further will not affect most of his matchups. Thus, it is the bane of choice.
We recommend +Atk when merging Young Ike to +10 for similar reasons above.
A +Spd IV may also be used to maximize his combat potential against the metagame's speedy units.

This build provides amazing sustain by using Special Spiral to pre-charge Radiant Aether before every combat after the first. After the first combat, Special Spiral reduces cooldown by 2, and before Ike's next combat beging, Sturdy War Sword reduces cooldown by another 2.

This is a budget build using Young Ike's base kit and cheap inheritance options. Null C-Disrupt allows counterattacks against sweep effects and staves with the Dazzling Staff effect, while Mystic Boost disables Wrathful Staff effects and provides minor sustain post-combat.

Young Ike is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Young Ike's Sturdy War Sword has multiple effects that can impact combat heavily, assuming Young Ike meets the conditions to trigger these effects.
It grants Atk+3 no matter what, and a handful of other effects if Young Ike's HP ≥ 25% at start of combat and if he is equipped with a Special that triggers on his attacks.

Since Ike fights for his friends, he does better when his allies are nearby. Positioning is key in utilizing Young Ike's full potential!
Young Ike's Duo skill inflicts Atk/Spd-7, Special cooldown count+2, and 【Guard】 on all foes within 5 rows and 5 columns centered on Young Ike's position.
This prevents them from using their Special skills for one turn unless they have effects that cleanse debuffs like Restore+ or have their actions refreshed by a dancer unit.
While 4 spaces is a generous amount, Young Ike still relies on having his allies in specific places for the effects of his Sturdy War Sword to trigger.
Ensure that Ike's allies are close enough at all times!
While not exactly the biggest weakness, Young Ike's Sturdy War Sword essentially prevents him from using Special skills like Galeforce which do not trigger on his attacks.
Radiant Aether is his best option that meets this requirement.
