One way to easily acquire Gold is to acquire loot from enemy drops. Progress the game, and eliminate as many enemies as possible so you can obtain some gold from their drops.
Completing Special Missions designated as Defend Albion Resource is an effective way to earn gold, given that it doesn't require much movement on the battlefield.
You can attract enemies on a single point in battle, and defeat them so that enemy drops will gather in a single place.
Defend Albion Resource Special Missions are also a great way to earn experience, so completing these missions will help strengthen your Descendant.

You can also sell your weapons and reactors to Deslin, the Weapons Lab Director in Albion. You will acquire many weapons and reactors as you progress through the game, so consider this an option if you want to earn Gold.
Do note that weapons and reactors can be dismantled and turned into Research Materials, so think carefully before choosing this option.

After completing an Invasion, you will receive 1,000,000 Gold each time you do so. You can repeat an Invasion two times, meaning you can gain a total of 4,000,000 Gold every day if you are diligent enough!
To farm gold in Hard Mode, you can try the Valby farming method by doing Zone Recon missions, specifically the Repository: Vulgus Strategic Outpost in Sterile Land or Defense Line: Vulgus Strategic Outpost in the Fortress. This method is as simple as running around in circles, not attacking the boss, and reaping the drops from enemies along the way.
However, given the name of this farming method, you will need Valby. Make sure to unlock her if you haven't yet. Alternatively, you can visit these locations in public and join the mission if you see a player using Valby farming in the mentioned outposts.

Gold is one of the main currencies used to construct a Descendant by talking with Anais in Albion, so be sure you have a substantial amount of Gold in your inventory before purchasing a Descendant.
What to Research at the Research Institute
The Weapon Readjustment and Enhance Unique Ability features of the Workbench will require some Gold for you to access. Weapon Readjustment is integral in upgrading your weapons, so be sure you have gold to avail of this feature.
The Enhance Module feature from Silion, the Module Master of Albion, requires you to spend some Gold to access his services. Make sure you have Gold to spare if you're planning certain builds using Modules in the game.

Some External Components have certain effects that can help increase your Gold earnings when exploring the battlefield, so make sure you have External Components equipped that increase the amount of Gold you earn in the game.
The Gold Boost (30%) can be bought from the Shop using Caliber, a type of in-game currency received by availing the paid transactions in the game. Be sure to consider it when trying to increase your Gold earnings in the game.
