Reactors can be bought from Deslin, the Weapon Lab Director. However, the reactors he has available are only level 1.
Reactors can be obtained by completing missions, which is arguably the best way to get them since you can get high-tier and high-level ones. You can see what reactors can be obtained when you complete a mission in the Reward Info before you initiate the mission.
You can target farm specific reactors in Hard Mode. Simply go to your map and choose Difficulty Level Rewards (press F), then select a region that offers a high drop chance of a specific reactor you're after.
To equip reactors, open first the Inventory screen. From there, select the Reactor slot at the upper-right to go to the reactor screen.
In the Reactor screen, just select and drag a Reactor to the Reactor Slot to equip it.
In the Reactors screen, mark all the reactors for dismantling as junk. Reactors that have a trash can icon on them are marked as junk.
Once reactors are marked, just press the button for Dismantle Junk.
Dismantling reactors gives you Superconductor Cores and Solenoids. They are research materials that can be used to craft weapons or make descendants, so they're valuable resources.
All Research Materials and How to Get Them
Although reactors might seem to have random names at first, they follow some naming format. You can have a good idea of the reactor's Skill Power Bonus Ratio stat just by looking at its name.
Knowing this naming format allows you to quickly determine whether you want to keep the reactor or discard it.
Name | Element Skill Power Bonus Ratio |
---|---|
Burning | Fire |
Frozen | Chill |
Toxic | Toxic |
Materialized | Non-Attribute |
Tingling | Electric |
Name | Skill Type Skill Power Bonus Ratio |
Phase | Dimension |
Mixture | Fusion |
Mechanics | Tech |
Singularity | Singular |
In this image, we can see that there are no checkmarks in the reactor's Skill Power Boost Ratio because Lepic is not a Toxic-element character, and he does not have any Fusion-type skill. |
In this image, we can see that there is only one checkmark in the reactor's Skill Power Boost Ratio because Lepic is not an Electric-element character, but he does have a Singular-type skill. |
In this image, we can see that both have checkmarks in the reactor's Skill Power Boost Ratio because Lepic is a Fire-element character, and he does have a Tech-type skill. |
The checkmarks under the Skill Power Boost Ratio Depend on the character you're using. If your character has Fire as its element, then any reactor that has a Fire Skill Power Boost Ratio will always have a check on it.
Moreover, your character's skill types also follow the same rule. So if your character has Tech and Singular skill types, then any reactor that has Tech Skill Power Boost Ratio or Singular Skill Power Boost Ratio will always have a check on it.
Just like the checkmarks, the skills displayed under the Skill Power When Equipped are fixed to the character you're using. So if you're using Lepic, you'll always see the character's skills displayed there.
In the images above, although the Reactors are different, all their Skill Power and Sub Attack Power stats are the same since they are all level 7 and are all Rare reactors. |
Reactors only differ in their tier and level. The higher the Reactor's level the better its Skill Power and Sub Attack Power stats are. The higher the Reactor's tier (Standard, Rare, or Ultimate) the more bonuses it gives in general.
Ultimate | Rare |
---|---|
Ultimate-tier and Rare-tier reactors have Optimization Condition as part of the bonuses they give. These conditions refer to weapons that you need to obtain or wield. By fulfilling this condition, you can further boost the reactor's bonus. In the image for Ultimate reactors above, the reactor only gives a 100% boost to Skill Power, but if the condition is fulfilled, it jumps to 160%.

I have ?s concerning this game. First, how do you enhance a reactor? Second, I have gathered all materials for both Bunny and Freyna, in research, the 'Research' button is greyed out, unable to select?
