Amorphous Materials Guide: How to Get and Open Amorphous Materials

Amorphous Materials in The First Descendant can be obtained by approaching Reconstructed Devices found from completing Void Intercept Battles. Read on for a list of all amorphous materials, how to get amorphous materials, as well as how to use amorphous materials in the game.

How to Open Amorphous Materials

Complete Void Intercept Battles

You must complete a Void Intercept Battle and defeat the boss residing there to get an Amorphous Material Pattern opened.

Proceed Toward the Reconstructed Device

After you've defeated the boss, it will drop something called the Reconstructed Device. Proceed toward the device and interact with it to access its features.

Choose an Amorphous Material to Shape

You will be opted to choose which Amorphous Material Pattern to open or shape after accessing the device. The menu will show you the components that will be unlocked from the procedure, so be sure to check the components before choosing.

How to Get Amorphous Materials

Complete Missions

Amorphous Materials are usually acquired as rewards for completing specific missions on the map. There are two types of missions that give out Amorphous Materials, namely Zone Recon and Calling of the Descendant.

Check Rewards in Mission Info

You can check if Amorphous Materials are obtained as rewards by checking out the missions pinned on the map or interacting with the devices that debrief you on the mission on the battlefield.

From there, scroll down toward the Rewards section of the mission to ascertain whether an Amorphous Material is being offered as a reward.

How to Use Amorphous Materials

Open Amorphous Material Pattern to Claim Components

Amorphous Materials will give out certain components when shaped by the Reconstructed Device. You can choose which component to claim from the Amorphous Material.

Use Components to Make Weapons or Descendants

Components unlocked from Amorphous Materials are usually Research Materials that can help make Weapons or Descendants in the game.

If you plan to have a specific Weapon or Descendant made, interact with Anais in Albion and check out the weapons or descendants you plan to make in the Weapon and Descendant tabs.

From there, hover over the weapon or descendant and check the research materials needed to make them. Check out the Acquisition Info for each material to identify where they can be unlocked and located.
