The First Descendant (TFD) has released its season roadmap, detailing all the upcoming content in future updates. See the season roadmap here, along with all the expected new content to drop in the future.

Season 1 will go live on August 29, 2024. The second half of Season 1 will be released on October 10, 2024. This will be the second major update, following the preseason update on July 31, 2024.
Hailey has joined the roster as the newest Descendant in the game in Season 1. She will be the second Descendant with Ice as her attribute, following Viessa, and will wield a sniper rifle as her signature weapon.
The next Descendant to receive an Ultimate treatment will be Freyna. She was teased in the recent trailer and may play a significant role in the upcoming story or episode updates of the game.
Ultimate Freyna Reveal and Release Date
A new dungeon has also been teased, featuring new mission objectives such as standing on pods and destroying black plates attached to pillars. A new enemy was teased at the end of the combat sequence and could be the main boss of the new dungeon.
The latest trailer also teased a new Void Intercept battle. The new Colossus is called the Death Stalker, which is touted as the strongest Colossus the Descendants have ever faced. The new Colossus may have Toxic as its primary attribute, similar to the Devourer.

Along with the new dungeon and characters mentioned above, The First Descendant will also introduce new episodes when the first season drops, tying all the new content into one major story update. The first episode will be called Invasion.
Invasions occur randomly in two hard difficulty dungeons. Players can choose to enter either the existing operations or the Invasions.
Designed to test the Descendant's mettle, Invasions can only be done solo.
The First Descendant will also introduce Season Progression. This is most likely tied to the season episodes and will likely offer rewards as you progress through the season!
Inversion Reinforcement allows descendants to gain beneficial effects for progressing through the season. The developers plan to have different Inversion Reinforcement effects for each season, tailored to that season's content.
Along with the season episode and progression, Field Completion will also be added in the major update. Not much is known about this, but we can expect it to be a new battle mode or a special event!
Season 2 of The First Descendant is set to release in December, and one of the major updates expected to drop is the new Mega Dungeon. This will likely be related to the new dungeon introduced in the previous season, so we can expect it to also be part of Void Intercept Battles!
Utility Companions will also arrive in Season 2! Not much is known about them yet, but we can speculate that they will likely be either pets or side supports to aid you in combat.
Season 2 will also feature a new episode called Ancestor. However, it is currently unknown whether this will be a new story or will be tied to the previous episode from Season 1.

Similar to the first season, the season roadmap for Season 2 indicates the arrival of new descendant, weapon, colossus, dungeon, and ultimate descendant. Season Progression will also receive an update to match the new season.
