Each area on the map has a set locations where Encrypted Vaults can spawn. When you see a holographic square with a greenish color, the spawns are near that area.
After you encounter a holographic square, Use Ecive and listen for the ping, and look for the visual cue with waves. If the ping sounds muddled, you are heading in the wrong direction. However, if it is sharp, you are facing the general direction of the Encrypted Vault.
Encrypted Vaults can spawn in certain locations of the map, but chances of them appearing are not a 100%. This means that you may find Encrypted Vaults in new locations, and not encounter them in past spawn sites you've visited.
Messages will also appear in normal chat, notifying the player when an encrypted vault is nearby. A white arrow will also appear near the descendant, indicating that an encrypted vault is close.
Season 1 Invasion: All New Characters, Dungeon, and Release Date
Difficulty | Required Items |
---|---|
Normal | ・Code Analyzer ・Precision Code Analyzer ・Ultra-Precision Code Analyzer |
Hard | ・Code Breaker ・Precision Code Breaker ・Ultra-Precision Code Breaker |
Code Analyzers and Code Breakers are consumable items that enable you to unlock Encrypted Vaults. There are three types of Code Analyzers, namely Code, Precision Code, and Ultra-Precision Code Analyzers.
Code Analyzers and Code Breakers are usually found as enemy drops encountered throughout certain missions in the game. You'll acquire Code Analyzers from missions in Normal difficulty, while you get Code Breakers from missions in Hard difficulty.
To consistently farm Code Analyzers, Extermination missions are the best way since they spawn the most enemies and are quick to finish depending on your build! These are the recommended missions to do for farming Code Analyzers:
Once you've selected the prompt to use a Code Analyzer to an Encrypted Vault, you will access a minigame that requires you to stop the rotating pointer to its designated area of target.
The minigame's difficulty will depend on what Code Analyzer you've used on the Encrypted Vault.
The greatest Quartermaster, Enzo, makes the minigame easier by increasing time along with the width of the bars. Using him also increases the rewards you get from opening Encrypted Vaults!
Normal Mode | Hard Mode |
---|---|
Precision: 2000-5000 Kuiper Shards
Ultra-Precision: 10,000 - 12,000 Kuiper Shards |
Precision: 25,000 - 30,000 Kuiper Shards
Ultra-Precision: 70,000 - 80,000 Kuiper Shards |
Opening certain Encrypted Vaults will reward you with a ton of Kuiper Shards! The amount of Kuiper Shards you get depends on the difficulty and the rarity of the Encrypted Vault you opened.
This method, if done with an Enzo and a party of four, is one of the most efficient and effective ways to farm up on Kuiper Shards!
To efficiently farm Kuiper Shards and other materials, it is recommended to have parties consisting of four players. For one Code Analyzer, all of the players in the party receive rewards for opening the Encrypted Vault!
If you are looking for additional players to play with, you can find some in our Recruitment Board!
Recruitment Board
Unlocking Encrypted Vaults will reward you with various materials in the game. One of these rewards can be a Negative Ion Particle that is used to craft the Wave of Light Polymer Syncytium, one of the components needed to construct the Wave of Light Scout Rifle.
If you are lucky enough to find an Ultra Encrypted Vault, they have a chance to drop a specific Skill Module for a Descendant. For example in Echo Swamp, you can get Enzo's exclusive Reinforce Front Line module!
