Please note that the First Descendant Team has stopped covering the game as of October 2024. Information on certain pages may not be up-to-date.
The First Descendant features DLC and microtransactions that allow players to earn extra rewards such as cosmetics, weapons, and new interactions. See the list of all DLC here, as well as the other microtransactions available in the game.

As of 16:00 on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, you may experience delays when purchasing Caliber and claiming Twitch Rewards. This issue affects all platforms, and no fix has been issued yet.
If you're experiencing delays, try restarting the game. Several players have reported that they were able to get their Calibers after a restart, so make sure to try this if you're having issues!
If restarting didn't fix the issue, try waiting a few minutes. You can also try restarting the game again after waiting if you're still experiencing delays.
The First Descendant features a battle pass where you can earn descendants, skins, calibers, emotes, and boosters by simply progressing in the game. The battle pass is free, and you can upgrade it to premium for 500 Calibers to unlock extra rewards.
Unlike most co-op games, The First Descendant does not feature a gacha system for character and weapon unlocks. Instead, you can simply purchase them in the in-game store.
The First Descendant has not announced any DLC or paid expansions for the game, nor do they have plans to introduce any in the future. You can play the game completely for free and only purchase in-game microtransactions for small boosts and cosmetics!
As mentioned above, you can purchase the premium version of the battle pass for 500 Calibers. Additionally, you have the option to jump 25 levels for 1500 Calibers if you wish to unlock rewards immediately.
Descendants can also be purchased from the in-game shop. You can buy a normal Descendant individually or choose from bundles such as the Ticket Package or the Ultimate Descendants, which come at higher prices.
You can also purchase exclusive skins for your Descendants.
Some skins are exclusive to certain characters, such as the Maid Uniform Set, while others can be equipped by any character, such as the Panda and Dinosaur Set. Keep this in mind when you're considering a skin purchase!
Makeup sets are also available for purchase for your Descendants. Basic sets can be found in the store, but for a complete selection, you can also access the Customize tab instead if you're only searching for the character you want!
You can further customize your Descendants by purchasing back attachments, chest attachments, and emotes. Additionally, spawn animations are also available, allowing you to customize your entrance to your liking!
You can also purchase boosters in the shop to enhance your gold, weapon proficiencies, Kuiper shards, and EXP gains. Boosters are available in different durations, and you can choose from 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days.

The part about outfits needs an edit, even though the dino/panda suits are labeled "common use" and "unisex" in description, it says clearly on the purchase page "this item is only available for the character purchased" specifically. So ALL skins are exclusive, only these limited time sets are available for 'all characters' if you buy them individually. There are complaints on reddit about this misunderstanding, which is specifically why I chose not to buy anything with this wording.

No Gacha Features? The whole game is gacha. For crafting any weapon or character, you need to random for a material, then random it (again) after a boss fight.
