The First Descendant - Frame Generation

Frame Generation, which is only available when choosing AMD as the upscaler (Additional Options under Performance), generates extra frames to provide smoother gameplay. The frame rate must be unlocked to avoid experiencing input lag.

Pros Cons
・ Provides a smoother gameplay experience

・ Can lower power usage and temperature 		・ Game may look blurry if too many things are happening on the screen

・ Frametime may become unstable, resulting in lesser performance

・ May experience artefacts (ghosting) of elements in-game

Even if it seems that the cons outweigh the pros of using Frame Generation, it's definitely still worth enabling it for those extra frames! You can always disable it if it seems that it lessens the performance.

Is Frame Generation on the PS5 Worth It?

Depending on the Graphical Glitches Occuring

Once Frame Generation is enabled, observe the performance to see if it feels and runs smoother, and if there are any weird glitches in the UI. If so, it's probably better to turn Frame Generation off until these issues are patched.
