Check out this 30-second Devourer clear using our Viessa Hard Mode Build!
Note: In this video, we have the Slayer Set equipped on Viessa; however, after extensive testing, we've determined that it is better to use the Polar Night Set, which we recommend in the External Component section!
Cold-Bloodedness | Mid-Air Maneuvering | Dangerous Ambush | Battle of Stamina | Emergency Measures | Focus on Chill |
MP Conversion | Skill Concentration | Skill Insight | Skill Expansion | Increased DEF | Nimble Fingers |
More Modules can be seen by scrolling horizontally.
The build is all about spamming skills with high Critical Hit and low cooldown. The set-up was made possible using multiple Cooldown Reduction modules together with the Cold-Bloodedness module, which will provide you with 20% Cooldown Reduction, 20% Skill Cost Reduction, and 5% Skill Power whenever you use your Cold-Bloodedness skill.
Prioritize slotting in Cooldown Reduction, Skill Damage, and survival modules, then start building Skill Range and Skill Critical Hit modules after. Once everything is slotted in, your skills would crit for millions while having close to 90% Cooldown Reduction.
Modules Guide: List of Modules
Module Change | Explanation | ||
---|---|---|---|
Dangerous Ambush | > | MP Collector | Recommended for mobbing because you will often run out of MP with skill spamming |
Battle of Stamina | > | Increased HP | Gives you more survivability but decreases one tick of damage with Blizzard skill |
Increased DEF | > | Spear and Shield | Gives you less DEF but increases your Skill Power by a good amount |
Emergency Measures | > | Skill Extension | Trading some Critical Hits for one more tick of Blizzard and longer duration of Cold-bloodedness |
You can choose to replace the following modules to squeeze in more damage or survivability, depending on which modules you have or prefer. Some of these are ideal when mobbing, like the MP Collector module.
Another solid Skill Module worth mentioning is the Hypothermia. This module can be slotted in as a substitute for Cold-Bloodedness; however, it would slightly change the core aspect of the build and would require you to build for Skill Power Modifier and Singular Damage instead.
Weapon | Substat Priority |
---|---|
Thunder Cage | • Bonus Firearm ATK (vs. Colossus)
• Firearm ATK • Firearm Critical Rate • Firearm Critical Hit Damage • Weak Point Damage • Rounds Per Magazine |
Clairvoyance
(Optional) |
• Bonus Firearm ATK (vs. Colossus)
• Firearm ATK • Firearm Critical Rate • Firearm Critical Hit Damage • Weak Point Damage • Rounds Per Magazine |
The Thunder Cage works great with most, if not all, descendants in the game, and Viessa is no different. Having a weapon with high stats while being extremely mobile and having AoE burst capabilities is definitely good to equip for any kind of activity.
An optional weapon you can get is the Clairvoyance, due to its unique ability to reduce enemy Chill Resistance by 20% and Action Speed by 70%. This works extremely well with Viessa since it will increase the damage of all of her skills and will also prevent enemies from walking out of Blizzard's range.
Snowflake Conductor | Concentration Priority | Action and Reaction | Weak Point Sight | Better Concentration |
Recycling Genius | Chill Enhancement | Better Insight | Fire Rate UP | Rifling Reinforcement |
More Modules can be seen by scrolling horizontally.
For Thunder Cage's weapon modules, you'd want those that would give you Firearm ATK, Critical Hit Rate and Damage, and Weak Point Damage to increase the damage output of your weapon. Chill Enhancement is the default module that goes with Viessa's element, but you could replace it with other enhancement modules depending on the enemy's weakness.
The same concept would apply to Clairvoyance; however, do note that you will have to level up modules again as the weapons mentioned have different bullet types. You'd also want to slot in Superconductivity Charge by removing Fire Rate UP to have a longer firing time, allowing you to have higher uptime on the debuff.
Equipment | Substat Priority |
---|---|
Frozen Mechanics Reactor | • Additional Skill ATK When Attacking Colossus
• Skill Critical Hit Rate • Skill Critical Hit Damage • Chill Skill Power Boost Ratio • Tech Skill Power Boost Ratio • Skill Range • Skill Cooldown Reduction |
Polar Night Auxiliary Power | • Max HP
• Fire Resistance |
Polar Night Sensor | • Max MP
• MP Recovery in Combat • Chill Resistance |
Polar Night Memory | • Def
• Electric Resistance • MP Recovery Multiplier |
Polar Night Processor | • Max Shield
• Toxic Resistance |
Note that External Components with set bonuses have fixed main stats.
The best Reactor for this build is a Frozen Mechanics Reactor, which boosts your high-damaging skills, Blizzard and Ice Shards. For substats, we recommend prioritizing Additional Skill ATK When Attacking Colossus to gain roughly about 20% extra damage against Colossus. Aside from that, any other matching utility or offensive substats would be great.
The best External Component set for Viessa is the Polar Night Set. The set bonus will give you up to 60% Skill Critical Hit Damage and 17% Firearm Critical Skill Damage, which you can easily gain even when fighting bosses. This, together with the 6% Chill Power, makes the set better than the highly regarded Slayer Set.

How to Play Viessa |
---|
|
Keep in mind to always cast your Cold-Bloodedness skill to take advantage of the effects brought by the Cold-Bloodedness module. You can determine the length of Cold-Bloodedness by checking a green icon located next to your character.
Make sure to cast Cold-Bloodedness before the buff ends so that you can take advantage of the 20% Cost Reduction when recasting your buff.
If you're going to use Clairvoyance, make sure to always hit enemies with the level 2 or 3 charge to benefit from the weapon's unique passive. As long as you're firing the weapon, the debuff will continue to reapply itself.
You can determine a beam rifle's charge by looking at the bars on top of to the ammo indicator. Make sure you have the Superconductivity Charge module slotted in to have faster charges.
Clairvoyance: How to Get and Stats
You can check how much Polar Night set bonus stack you have by checking a green icon next to your character. On that icon, a small number on the lower right will appear, determining how much stack you have overall.

Similar to most Descendants, Thunder Cage is Viessa's best weapon in Normal mode due to how powerful and accessible the weapon is. This weapon set-up excels in both mobbing and boss fights due to how much damage it can deal while being extremely mobile.
Once you get to higher levels, you can start considering Clairvoyance as an optional weapon for Collosus fights.
Reactor | Substat Priority |
---|---|
Frozen Mechanics Reactor | ・Chill Skill Power Boost Ratio ・Skill Critical Hit Rate ・Skill Critical Hit Damage ・Skill Cooldown Reduction |
Using a Frozen Mechanics Reactor will further increase the damage of your high-scaling skills, Blizzard and Ice Sphere. For the substats, try to look for Chill Skill Power Boost Ratio together with other damage-boosting or utility substats.

The Glacial set boosts your Chill Skill Power Modifier and also provides Firearm Critical Hit Rate with Skill Cost Reduction.
Note that although this is great to have, in the early stages it's best to prioritize survival, so go with whatever External Component will offer you more HP, defense, and elemental resistances.

You can unlock Viessa through the Research Institute in Albion. Note that to acquire a Descendant using research, you need all the required items and gold to unlock this character.
Alternatively, you can unlock Descendants by purchasing them in the Shop. This method only requires Caliber, an in-game currency that you can buy with real money. Purchasing Viessa in the Shop instantly unlocks the Descendant, allowing you to skip the item requirements and research time.

Cold Snap |
Fusion Releases an arc of cold air in front, inflicting damage and Ice Shackle. |
Blizzard |
Tech Creates a snowstorm that explodes over time, inflicting damage and Ice Shackle on enemies caught within. |
The Arche Refrigerant Release Drone is a battle sub-system modified specifically for Viessa. It uses thermal sensors to automatically track down and attack the Vulgus who become colder than their surroundings, i.e. enemies that have been attacked by Viessa.
The drone is linked to Viessa's Arche; when Viessa uses her abilities, the drone is summoned automatically.
Various drone technologies have been researched to enhance Viessa's battle capabilities. The very first fruit of such efforts was the Arche Refrigerant Release Drone. Since then, it became possible to link the Arche of other Descendants to dedicated drones and turrets, and Viessa would sometimes joke that she was what started the Arche drone technology."

What a garbage post. In the one section where it actually says what pieces you need, it says you need to do other stuff to get them... HOW ABOUT TELLING ME WHAT I NEED TO DO TO GET THEM!!! That's the whole point of this whole post! How do I get Viessa, which involves getting those pieces. You give tons of useless data that isn't relevant, and don't give the one thing we actually want.

This is more of a pure cold blooded build imo. you dont have duration or skill range in the build which is pretty necessary imo the skill ranges on viessa are horrible and furagal master is not enough. Also why no mp collector it would be great here I just feel like this build is lacking so much its undortunate.
