Post-Game and Endgame Guide and Content

You can access the post-game or endgame content of The First Descendant (TFD) after beating the main story. Read on to learn all post-game content, and how to prepare for post-game.

All Post-Game Content

Hard Mode Missions

Battlefield Missions, Special Operations, and Infiltrations become available in hard mode after beating the game's main story. Enemy levels throughout the regions range from level 100 or higher, offering new challenges for players.

Missions on Hard Mode maps will show a red icon, unlike the normal mode blue icons. You can swap between Normal and Hard Mode by choosing the option on the upper left side of your screen.

Hard Void Intercept Bosses

Tougher versions of Void Intercept Bosses also become available in hard mode, with three new Void Intercept Bosses exclusive to hard mode.

Defeating these bosses grants a chance of receiving hard mode exclusive External Component sets and Modules.

Hard Mode Exclusive Modules

Modules that are exclusive in Hard Mode are Descendant Skill Modules that only have a set chance to drop from a hard mode Void Intercept Battle. These Modules modify some of your Descendant's abilities, allowing you to alter or improve your build and playstyle.

How to Prep for Post-Game

Build for Survivability

We highly recommend raising your DEF, HP, and Shield stats to survive the enemies in hard mode. While your damage at the end of normal mode is still viable, enemies deal more damage in hard mode, making it harder to complete missions.

Recommended DEF Stat and Resistance Numbers

Try to reach a DEF stat between 35,000 - 50,000, and an attribute (elemental) resistance of 5,000 - 7,000 in the late-game of Hard Mode. These stats will help you survive enemy attacks, ultimately allowing you to focus on attacking and completing mission objectives.

You can reach these stat numbers through External Components and their substats, or by increasing a specific stat through modules.

Upgrade Modules and Apply Catalysts to Descendants

Upgrade your Modules and apply Crystallization Catalysts to Descendants to maximize your modules and builds. This is a required step for further upgrading the abilities of your Descendant, as well as improving your Descendant's survivability.

Exploit Enemy Weaknesses

You can align your equipment to exploit enemy weaknesses through Weapon Readjustment, or by adding a Module that adds and increases a specific attribute damage your weapon does.

How to Reach Post-Game

Finish the Main Story

You need to finish the main story of the game to reach Post-Game and access Hard Mode. This roughly takes around 35-45 hours depending on your grind and effectiveness.

The main story allows you to unlock all regions and play through all missions and infiltrations, making them readily available in Hard Mode. Before reaching post-game, the main story will have you fight Khulan in the Heart of the Fortress and destroy the Ironheart in the Fortress region.
